Thanks dude. I can't wait to detail the car to really make everything pop. I'm really liking the look.

So I have 17" Konig Countersteer Type X in matte bronze which I actually picked up off a group buy here a few years ago. -10mm offset, but currently debating some wheel spacers for a wider stance. General Grabbers are 33x12.5x17. Ordered on Black Friday with free shipping and no tax. Total came out to 805.

I've read a lot of mixed reviews, but I really dig the look of the red letters. I don't do any wheeling, but I get on dirt roads when I go hunting. Yea I actually got these for a pretty sweet deal back on Black Friday. Figured it couldn't hurt to save some money.

Glad you were able to dodge the beasts. You weren't hurt right? Anything beyond the bumper damaged?

Do you have any pics of it installed? Interested in seeing where the cross-over is for ground and skid plate clearance.

Nice! Just a word of caution. I occasionally work in a bike shop and about once a month we get someone in that has driven into their garage with a bike on the roof top! It usually makes a mess of the bikes and often the car too. I've had roof racks for 15 years and I've even done it once (nearly a bad scene but I stopped quickly enough that there was no damage). Get yourself something to hang onto your mirror and use it every time you put the bike on top to remind you. Or, disable your automatic door opener (all I've seen have lock buttons) which will cause you to get out of your vehicle. Whatever you do don't forget that the bike is on the roof!

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely have to do something to remind me when we're on the road. It won't happen at home because I have my pop-up in there so I can't park the truck inside anymore :(. The good thing is I'll only have the bikes on the roof when I'm towing my trailer, so that will keep me out of drive-thru's and other places with potentially low clearances.

So since you have more experience with this setup, do you agree that it should be ok for long distances? I'll be mindful of my speed, but am hoping the racks can handle the bikes well over hundreds of miles on the interstate.

I've carried two bikes and a canoe thousand miles with this type setup. No problems. As @Berniebikes says hang a reminder from your mirror. They ride so nicely you forget the are up there. Low bridges are another consideration. Normally you don't give them a second though. Measure the height of your set up so you don't get caught.

Fine with long distances. Looks like you have Yakima Baseline towers using C clips and a Thule Proride bike tray. Both are excellent products. After you have had the cross bars on for a drive or two check to make sure that your original fit and adjustment are good and they are still tightly attached. I've driven tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of miles all over the country with bikes and kayaks attached and my only problems ever were due to my own negligence in not tying something down right. The Thule tray you have is a great one.
