    $11,800 in labor alone????

    So what's the plan? Did they officially total it? If so what is going to replace the Taco? :(

    I say he should buy a hood off of TW and then make it a convertible, who needs a roof in CA anyways!?!? Total repairs <$1k

    It was over 100 hrs of labor, don't recall the specific amount of hours, but average hourly rate here is around $100. They're not more expensive than anyone else, they're all within $20/hr of each other.

    I've never had to have a body work quote (knocks on wood...hard)so I was thinking more along the lines of the techs doing the labor. Still a big number

    Plan is easy other an F150 Super Crew for me or a Subaru Outback for woman.

    Saw the Ford Thursday, seeing the Outback today in a few hours.

    Was able to reach out to some contacts at my dealer that I bought from, they have a number of dealerships in their umbrella and one is a Subaru dealer, so they're sending a sales manager from their Toyota dealership 30 minutes south of me to meet us at their lot just down the road a few minutes.

    Pretty happy with that level of service! I bought from them and sent them 4-5 other new vehicle purchases so hopefully that helps me out if we end up on the Subaru side. For that matter, they also have a Ford dealership, so maybe I'll test that water as well.

    I got in the driver seat and put the seat all the way back.

    Then I got out, and sat in the back seat behind myself.

    I had like 4" of air between my knees and the seat. :eek:

    I prefer the looks of GMs offerings, but don't think they're as durable both in longevity and in materials. They're also slightly more expensive.

    The Ford trucks are very nice these days, and the 5.0 V8 gets the same mileage my 2.7 4 cylinder does, with twice the room and power, and realistically only a few grand more expensive.

    On a separate note, my insurance pays market value for totaled vehicles. I did some searching last night and found 3 identical trucks within 1k ODO miles to my truck for sale.

    Dealers were asking $25,995, $26,995, and $21,115.

    The $26,995 truck was in California as well, so in my market. I paid $24,700 for mine brand new!

    If my payout is based on a $3k profit, then damn am I glad I bought a Tacoma.
