Phew...just got my Sport back after a couple days in service. They gave me a Carolla as a loaner. 2X the fuel economy, but holy crap was it harsh on the NVH. The sport rides like a Caddy comparatively!

Shit dude. You don't know what a bad road ride is. The only truck Ive ever owned with a better ride than mine was a 2010 Dodge.
I had an 87 GMC 1 ton 4x4 with overload springs at all 4 corners. LMFAO. Don't talk about a bad road ride to me.

what year TRD sport had hitatchi shock??
I have a 2015 sport with the factory bilsteins and the ride is firm but not what I (emphasis on "I") would call harsh.
Handles well and doesn't act like a boat on the highway (smooth and well damped).
Everyone who has ridden in it compliments the ride...
    And i have the 265/65R17's (winter 245/70R17)

but i agree this is a matter of personal opinion, mine will see 99.9% highway and city with occasional trips to the cottage so this works for me.

maybe you can find someone who wants to swap out the OR suspension and buy all the parts..

the question still applies since it was concerning the difference between the hitatchi used on the 2016's and the bilsteins on the 2015.

You want rough? My first truck was a 1989 460 F350 CC 4x4 long bed with BFG MT's.. add a leaf to level the front, do you know how stiff one add a leaf has to be to lift a 460 engine? with bench seat..

That truck was a kidney destroyer!!

1" lift from 3rd gen suspension, 265/75/16 ATs
Got a new set of blue Sport Hitachi's installed to replace worn out 2nd gen Sport suspension. Ride is perfectly fine to me for what the truck is marketed as. I enjoy driving my truck again. Yes, my old shocks were done. Got 1" lift on my second gen as a bonus. Happy customer here.

Coming from a 2006 4runner SR5 2WD, I love the ride and handling of my Sport. Ride is firm but not harsh and like how it takes turns quicky and without a lot of roll.

this may be the best post I'll read today - I've owned all three generations and I don't have a problem with the ride of my 2016 TRD Sport

I can't stand Camry drivers. They are always driving in the fast lane, below the speed limit or with their high-beams on (day or night).

After reading all the threads about the sport ride, and as I had already ordered a sport last week, my dealer finally got a Limited in, so I went in to give it a test drive, and boy am I glad I did. The limited had a much more refined ride and much smoother. I was shocked on how much better it was.
Needless to say, I changed my order to a Silver Limited.. Can't wait to get it..

besides the price tag and extra options inside the cab, whats the difference in the Limited and Sport? What makes the Limited's ride better?
