Well technically, if you want to actually USE your suspension, as in the full travel. You have to make it clear. Remember a lift doesn't allow for bigger tires really. I mean it's not changing the geometry of the suspension. So if you want to stuff a 33'' tire, it doesn't matter what suspension you have. Stock stuffs the same as kings and UCAs would.

So...yea you can. Might rub a bit more then normal ride height would with a small lift. But you could make it work. The goal no matter what is to not rub through the whole movement of the suspension.

    Thanks

I don't have interest in it

I am happy with my Asian tiny penis 28 inch tires on my puny truck

Just was curious what's the tallest tires mall cruises can install without rubbing on stock suspension

Replaced the passenger side UBJ. Of course, it wasn't the problem. :annoyed:
    So back to diagnosis.

At least I know how to do that job now, I suppose.

    I don't know. Nothing really.
During wheeling this past weekend, the truck developed a clunk when the passenger side front tire moves up and down. Sounded like it was coming from the UBJ, like it had worn and started having up and down movement. And the sound happens less often and typically not as loud with a passenger, which made sense for the UBJ case in my mind.

But now it's replaced, and it hasn't gone away. I still can't tell where the sound is coming from. Seems perhaps it's lower than I thought.
I haven't a damn clue if it's related or not, but I noticed moisture on the outside of the steering boot on that side and I can see a little hole between two of the fins. I have no idea if this is new and potentially related to the issue or if it's been there and I never noticed. But nothing about steering has changed, so I have my doubts it's related to the noise.

I'd make sure no bolts or nuts are loose causing any movement, tie rods, shock mounts, cv, etc. If none of them are loose jack the truck just enough so the tire comes off the ground then, give it a good wiggle side to side checking for any play, and take a pry bar, or a leverage bar of sorts, and wedge it between the tire and ground and pull up(or push down, depends on what type of bar your using) to check for play there as well.

Yeah that's my next plan. Doesn't seem like WB to me, but I'm gonna check with that method anyway. But the thing is, if I don't get the tire to travel much (or rock the truck side to side, same result) there is no noise. It has to move a good bit. Not that that is any trouble with my soooft stock suspension.

But I will definitely check for play and look at all nuts and such.

I stand corrected. I was looking at 285/75-17s, which are 33.83 according to TW's size calculator. Sorry about that.

Edit: I've been tire shopping, so I'm a little distracted.

hmm getting a hammer under the tire and moving it up and down, I can tell it's either the UCA or the LBJ. I can't tell which. And that's fucked because it's as far away from each other as it can get. But it does sound and feel more like UCA.
