MKe sure you have A LOT of weight. Bryan has them and he says/I say they ride super rough. He only has a RTT on, but maybe when a rear bumper is put on it'll be better. Maybe take a leaf out or so

Depends on what you want your truck to be. Dakars are good, but when weight is added just throw the AAL in.

Expos are great if there is a lot of weight

Alcans are awesome because you give them specs on what you want. But it's expensive

    Cheapest preferably....

I'll have an rtt, toolbox, normal camping setup, and highlift with either a 4 gallon or 2) 3 gallon under my toolbox. With a high clearance rear...

If cheapest is your option that rules out alcans and other custom made ones. You can do add a leafs, but from my research into them, they are just a bandaid for a short period of time. If I remember right dakars were one of the more affordable options with a lot of people using them, and material to read on them. All pro has a standard and an expedition leaf packs. Pricing was a little bit more than dakars I believe. Wheelersoffroad.com has one that they carry that they clam as their own and I believe headstrong off-road does too. 4wheel parts wasn't much help on this topic for me. They were insistent on selling me airbags. Which is an option to help with carrying weight, but not what I wanted.
However going back to alcans and custom made, from what I heard they seem to have the best reviews. The old saying of you get what you pay for comes into play, or so it seems.
Many options, with different needs and results.

I thought about the wheelers pack (not sure what leaf count), all pro regulars, or dakars....

    Dakars.
I have a 2011 DCSB with the OME 885's and the full Dakar leafs in the rear. I gained 3.75" with the Dakars. I don't have anything other than a soft tonneau cover, so not much weight at all.

I know you have a 1st Gen., but I'm sure the Dakars will work for you!

My truck had a factory 1 1/2" rake, and the OME 885's lifted my front 2.25". I still have close to the same rake with the Dakars. Truck is "level", from a factory standpoint.

I went with Dakars because I could get the greaseable shackles and the AAL and the springs themselves for cheaper than the Expos at the time (Black Friday deal)

Anyone possibly interested in a set of 2nd gen 42" Relentless roof led bar mounts (don't even think they make these for 2nd gens anymore) and a 42" Relentless LED bar???? Bolts to stock roofrack holes.

I was looking to sell this thing a while ago then decided not to, now I have decided to definitively sell it. Looking to see if anyone local wants it first.

I'm going to remove it from the truck this weekend and post it in the BST. Looking for $400 whole package firm. Light bar is terminated with an HD Deutsch connector.

Here's an article on the Bitter Southerner from a Dahlonega based Good ol' boy/college professor about how modern Academia has abandoned the rural south and heaped stereotypes upon it (us). Full disclosure: one of these dudes is one of my current professors and a solid dude. 10/10 would go fishing and chug beers with this dude. Quotes and/or references NASCAR, Willie Nelson, Sturgill Simpson, hunting, and trucks. It's not exactly preaching to the choir, but making a fair statement to Academia to quit fucking around and pointing fingers at others for its failures.

    http://bittersoutherner.com/folklore-project/including-all-yall

"Country folks aren’t dumb. Country folks aren’t racist or xenophobic or misogynistic. Country folks are…well...folks. And folks are diverse and interesting and, for the most part, well intentioned. To build on the words of Sturgill Simpson, it is time, as the Academy, to stop excluding and stereotyping country folks. It is time to stand up to the voices behind curtains that vilify the South, the Rust Belt, and all of us with a twang, a drawl, or dirt driveway. Bigotry doesn’t discriminate, and it is our job to fight bigotry. If we are willing to look out the window, we will discover that a lot of rural America is ready to fight the same fight."

Funny bc at KSU all the steriotypers cry at the main campus and protest, but wouldn't dare come to the engineering campus bc we wouldn't tolerate them (bunch of country asses In the surveying department and the civil engineering department)

Me and my buddy got made fun of sooo much for being From blue ridge and having a country accent when we were at KSU. Students, professors, it didn't matter.

Not that we cared. We hated being down there with all the yuppies...

That's exactly what the article is about. I was wondering y'alls take, since we're all from rural places but have some college learning. Do you agree that modern academia has left us in the lurch?

I've seen the "Brain Drain" at work in my hometown, but I have a base disagreement with the concept. This article points out the flaw in the "Brain Drain" idea.

I don't disagree with it at all. We were in the business department. So of course everything has to be uber professional...and people don't associate a country drawl with professional. We were actually told we needed to work on disguising our accent.
