I would like to be able to do it/check it myself... In college I used to have some tools that I fabed to check my alignment.... Would like to do that again.

i used to go to this mom and pop shop in the hood where they work on lowriders...

Engage does alignments by plate and measurement too, so after aligning it with the LT, i had the alignment cams tack welded into place... its been a year and still rolls straight and my tires wear very evenly...

That's not a bad idea! :) ...unless something bends that could be aligned back... maybe.

with LT, you have a lot of force being applied to the arms and no matter how often you align, it will always shift... with the tack welds, its not moving much if at all...

plus, you gotta figure or have hope that your parts are strong enough to take the impact of being solid mounted... i dont expect Camburg, TC, or Engage kits to bend...

although, since tack welded, its easy to cut the tacks to realign when need be...

Hmm. I may just call engage tomorrow and ask them about aligning my truck and welding in those reinforcement tabs, thatll save money in the long run.

Murph...do you need your walker wheels alligned or the tennis balls?

is there any thing, that does a good job, closer to Oceanside that anyone is aware of? I would be willing to pay the $15 in gas to go and have it done at True Line Alignment though. just wondered if someone knew something locally around here.

you could try cruising by some local alignment shops and scope out what kind of trucks they are working on... if you see some custom trucks, thats a good starting point... the mom and pop shops will likely not have a website to find them, or even much of a big marquis to spot when driving by...

plus, you can see what kind of gear they are using if you want to go with the old school measurement style machines...

remember to get your price quotes in person... over the phone or online isn't always the best price as they tend not to know who they are dealing with... face to face interactions FTW

Well I ended up going with B&D Alignment in Bellflower and I will sure be going back when I need another alignment. Like Parkster said, they use the old school equipment, but the dudes seem like honest guys who know what they're doing. My truck drives SOOOOO much better. I definitely recommend them.

Im getting new coilover and shocks next month so i decided to wait untill thats all settled in before I go welding cam tabs and such.

    Thanks everyone.

I realize you know this but... why didn't you wait 'til you get your new c/o's - you'll have to realign. How much did they wack you?

I did the alignment now because I don't know exactly when I'll be putting my coilovers in. I know my bonus chck comes in 5 weeks, then I'll order, but I don't know when I'll have the time to put them in And get everything right. Also, I've Been driving my corolla everywhere because the taco drives like shit. It's so squirrely on the road and the off centered steering wheel has me drifting into neighboring lanes. The retarded alignment makes long hwy drives very annoying too and Im going up to the snow 4x in the next 10days, and the drives wouldn't be very pleasurable.
