I have impact sockets from HF. No issues. Only thing I do not like from them is impact adapters. Broke a 1/2" to 3/8" at about 100ftlbs.

And with the axle nut getting torqued to 185ftlbs is why I'm hedging my bet. The Tekron(?) one I ordered from depot got good reviews. I'd be more inclined to try something if I wasn't risking being stuck. I had to buy a new torque wrench too. Went with a Husky 40-250lbs from depot. My snap-on only goes to 100. I don't have the monies for snap-on now.

173 ftlbs for our axle nut IIRC. One of my 35mm sockets is Tekton, as well as my socket set in the truck. Good quality

Got a little story from Hillsborough autozone, went in lookin for the socket and some connectors for my friend. Me, my brother, and my friend walk in, all go straight to the socket/electrical isle, we find what we are looking for (with a couple of the employees standing around near us) and I start walking around with them looking at other random stuff while I was looking something up. 2 employees working there come up to us with a box of connectors, pretty much the same as the ones we were buying, that's ripped open and half empty and say "were you guys gonna pay for this?" We immediately look at each other and pretty much think of it as a joke since we literally had the box we were buying in our hands, why would we do that? Well We didn't, but the guys assume that since all 3 of us were "huddled around" in the same isle we were up to something. They claim they "just restocked that isle and find that" well apparently you didn't look very hard the first time around, not sure what to tell you. We all get in a really heated argument and I just couldn't wipe this smile off my face since this whole confrontation was a joke to me, none of us have ever stolen before. They accuse my brother of "coming in here all the time and stealing something" they say they have "his face on video multiple times" and kind of threaten to press charges if it continues to happen. Believe me when I say this was completely out of the blue and we are loyal autozone customers who never steal. So I straight up tell the guy to bring the police in, show them the videos, and arrest us. They say "don't get smart with us" I'm not buddy I just know we didn't do this bs you are claiming we did. I kind of repeat to them to bring the police in and they make up a bunch of excuses like "don't wanna do the paperwork" "can't access the cameras without the manager" "don't wanna get you guys in trouble" and I was just absolutely pissed. Was about the walk out empty handed because of that but needed the socket and didn't wanna look like we were actually up to no good. In conclusion, I'm salty af and this ruined my night.

    Fuck that shit.

YOU should have called the cops Jim.

You can press charges based on their false accusations.

Call corporate. Go above their heads. People give you free stuff that way. And then call a competitor and praise them. Also get stuff that way.

    ^^^ This.

Note the exact time/date you guys were there. Corporate can review the security video.

You gotta contact corporate ASAP, before the video gets overwritten

    Get those guys fired.

    Fuck them.

Thanks Jon, don't recall where i saw 185. The thumbs up on Tekton is reassuring too. Just want to do this without any drama.

There is always drama. And FYI, if your front diff is leaking from passenger side tube, there is NO place to get them locally. No one stocks them. I ordered a bunch from Amazon and keep my own stock.

Was a couple kids, maybe a couple years older than me. Might not be shopping there so often after this bs
I should've but didn't really wanna waste my night dealing with a couple morons who have no idea what they're talking about
I was gonna talk to the manager next time I'm in there but maybe I'll contact corporate too, totally false accusations, couldn't believe it...
