How old is he, and how long was he at your dads with you? He should pull out of the funk soon. Just try and play with him in the house as much as you can when you get home.

mine never would take to crate training as a pup. he is spoiled rotten and sleeps in the bed with me, or in the bed by himself throughout the day. he has always been terrified of being locked up, times I've had to take him to the vet he refused to get in their cages.

he will be 5 in April. he was at my Dad's house from 5 weeks old till last week. I currently go pick him up at my sisters after work and take him straight to the house and play with him as much as possible and go out back and throw ball. Like I said he loves the place, but only if I'm there..

Was he close to your dad? Is your dad close enough to come visit? Maybe those things will help him adjust. Maybe you need another dog so he's got a companion when you're not home! :) I'm sure he'll be fine in a couple weeks.

yea I got pretty lucky with mine. it didn't take much for her to take to it. lots of hiding treats under blankets in there and giving treats as she was locked in there. besides that, she sleeps in there rather than on her bed most nights. if I cant find her during the day that's usually where shes napping. Goodluck bud.

very close to my dad, slept in his bed with him when I wasn't home. dad is close enough to visit just hasn't had time with work this week. I'm really hoping getting the other dog this weekend helps him out a lot. it's hard seeing your best friend struggle, and neither of you able to understand the other.

I'm having the same issue with my hound. Once he's on a scent forget it unless it's a squirrel in a tree. He'll just try and climb it but at least he is focused on that and not tracking in it.

I need to clean up the truck but Henry & Sophie both agreed that it is too comfy on the couch... Truck can wait until tomorrow.

My avatar pup hated her kennel @ first. I fed her in there, threw her toys in there when we were playing and gave her treats. Took a week or two and she started liking it. She's sleep in it most of the time. Make's it easier on them when they have to be kenneled @ the vet or elsewhere.

Hope your adapts to the new place soon.

Action shot. She loves the snow.

Shortly after the shutter clicked, she jumped up while throwing her body sideways, and slammed into my knees, trying to knock me down. It's one of her favourite moves. That or leaping up for a mid walk hug. She's asleep beside me on the couch now.

Got an elevated dog bed for Drake today in an attempt to keep him off the furniture.
