Does 3rd gen have neutral safety switch for M/T?

    Isn't clutch cancel button for the service employees at the dealership who cant drive standard transmission? I watched one of the girls move my truck doing that. It's sad people aren't taught to drive standard anymore.

    no. manual says it's for preventing roll back if you're about to fall off a cliff and you've stalled.

    For the purpose of installing a remote start system, the neutral safety switch on the clutch is not helpful. If there was a system in place for the car to know if it was in any gear, then the brain of the remote start system will know to stop/cancel the remote start request if it's in gear. In this case, the truck doesn't know if it's in gear or not.

    This will require some manual work by installing a contacts/springs/magnets around the shifter and wired into the brain of the remote start system. If it's in gear, it will not allow the remote start to activate.

    No need to make it that complicated. Just look for a starter system that has reservation mode.
