    Well...that nightmare is over. o_O The starter is repaired and working fine ATM. Got the skid plate back on her and she's as ready as she's gonna get for next weekend.

    The contacts weren't hard to replace at all, but Murphy was definitely bird dogging me today. Ended up braking the exciter wires off the terminal again the the process of snaking the starter out and back in. Of course, this didn't become apparent until I had it back in and nothing happened when I turned the key. So I had to pull it back out and exercise my sub-par soldering skills to fix that. Then one of the tiny screws that hold the solenoid cover on sheared off when I was putting it back in so now it only has 2 of the 3 holding it on. :annoyed:

    Oh, and did I mention that a gawd damn cat sprayed everything under the frontend of my truck so it all smells like cat piss? :frusty:

    Haha, I figure after the first couple of water holes it'll have a nice coating of mud on it that will take care of that issue. :thumbsup:

    Don't know if any of you have heard of these solar lights for camping, but a few months back I got back from a week of primitive camping in the Ozarks. My cousin and his wife had a solar bag light, it was something I tell ya. The best part was (it didn't attract bugs), when the battery died, I got a standard led light, and almost instantly hundreds of bugs swarming, right over dinner on the stove.     Anyone check the weather yet for next week. Know it's a week out but from what I see it's going to be pretty chilly

    I've been keeping an eye on it. It looks almost perfect at the moment. 0% chance of rain all weekend and it'll be nice and cool...except on Sunday afternoon when it's supposed to almost be hot. :p We'll be long gone by then though, so it's all good if the forecast remains the same.
