    depending
depending on what insurance co. claims liability the estimate could be $4000- 6,000. A front end hit like that are very common.

Totaled doesn't necessarily mean end of your truck. As someone already mentioned you can buy back the wreck and fix some yourself and upgrade along the way if you want and still come out whole. So if declared totaled look at the estimate and do some research before deciding if it is really dead.

Thanks for all of the feedback/advise guys. Because there was no airbag deployment and my front bumper tucked under the F150 in front of me, it's a lot of body damage, not so much looking like structural. My biggest hope is nothing got pushed back too hard into the engine, then it really would be feasible to fix. The core support, radiator, etc. are obviosly gone. I would much prefer they fix it, I just bought the truck a year and a half ago before I started college and it was my first vehicle. Like most guys on here I have a diagnosibly unhealthy relationship with my truck and would absolutely hate to have to try and find another.

The headlights are intact but the mounts are gone. They were only like $100 when I bought them new anyways. The passenger fender should be good, I'll guess the drivers side not so much. I'm not sure I'd consider buying it back, even though I love it as much as I do. I already have a 280z that I can't seem to make any progress on. I'll just have to see what insurance makes of it.

I'm going out to assess what I'm really looking at this morning, so I'll update the thread with some more photos.

What surprises me is the fact that the airbags DIDN'T fire! When I hit a tire in my 2006, my steering wheel airbag DID fire, and the impact wasn't even towards the center of the bumper, but much closer to the edge! I had much less visible damage, mostly the bumper and fender. Either my airbag fired when it didn't need to, or OPs DIDN'T when it should have! My damage was over $12,000 but it was a lot of suspension parts. This STILL makes me wonder...

That's it. That's the total visible damage, and the bag fired. Any kind of an explanation from anyone out there with body experience or whatever??

From what I know, the airbags deploy due to rate of deceleration. Your case does look odd though for sure. Because I had no hard or immediate impact I'm glad they didn't deploy, I would be in worse shape than I am now (which is completely uninjured). The damage looks so bad because my bumper tucked under the truck in front of me. The metal bumper beat out my plastic. May have to look into a plate bumper soon...

Yes, I know about the deceleration factor being the main reason an airbag sensor will fire. That's why I'm thinking I had a bad one, since all I felt when I nailed the tire was a bump, not much worse then hitting a pothole, and suddenly I have an airbag in my face! Glad you are all right, and hope she can be fixed! We need MORE 2006s running around!! :)

In my opinion you did have a bad one. And I sure hope she can be fixed too. I'd be absolutely devastated if this was the end of my journey with her.

For those saying its just plastic parts and no airbag deployment. I can tell you those plastic parts, plus paint, plus labor cost a shit ton. And you have a 2006 worth rough neighborhood 13k. Repairable yes everything is repairable, but still likely a totaled insurance loss in consideration of the market value.

If not totaled, it's time for a 2012+ front end.

I do like the look of those more for sure, but I just couldn't get over the fact that it's incorrect for the actual year of the truck.

You are definitely a couple levels above me on the OCD spectrum.

They make new one's every day. Its just metal, plastic and rubber. Good thing is you were not hurt and you have some experience to build another just how you want it if it comes to that.

I will say however that I teared up a little in the mechanics bay at the dealer when I took the last look at the Chevy I had for 9 years before I got my taco. Since then, I've had just as much enjoyment tinkering around on this truck as much as any other

I think you all are underestimating. Mine recent accident where I was rear ended, the insurance company is estimating $2700. OP definitely has a lot more damage than I did.
