I don't see why it'd be a problem. Dry weight at 3500#, gross weight at 5000# according to that link. I tow 3-3500# all the time longer distances than that no problem, and 5000 is well within the capacity if you have the tow pkg. I think you're fine unless the 3rd gens are just way worse than the 2nd gens....which from all I gather isn't necessarily untrue...

You will be fine, just set your truck up properly.

Only if you know how to tow safely and have the proper setup for towing!

I've towed 2 tons with mine about 1000 miles total and I don't want to have to do that regularly, if you get the right setup it would be easier, larger tyranny cooler, airbags on the rear axel, and not gunning the engine, I didn't go above 60 when I was towing the 2 tons. If I were getting a trailer like that I'd get a full size so I would have to worry bout it.

You will have no problem towing that trailer. I tow a 25' TT, dry 4650#, loaded, 5400#, tongue 600#, as long as your truck is set up properly, you will have no issues, correct WD, larger trans cooler, and firestone air bags, it will be smooth sailing. always drive in 4th gear when towing. add a scan gauge for extra measures so you can monitor trans temp and other important info. I've towed our TT from RI to Canada with no problem, 10 hr trip and 700 miles, one way. Good luck and happy camping.

GVWR on that is rated at 4,950lbs....

2017 Tacoma towing capacity is 3,500lbs or 6,800lbs depending on setup.

Exactly, with GVWR @ 4950#, the 3rd gens can tow 6700#, (i think), shouldn't be an issue

I wouldn't want to pull that 200 miles with a tacoma. Yes, by the specs it will handle the weight, but the wind resistance will kill you. I pull a 24' pontoon which weighs less then that and I wouldn't want to pull more than 30 miles and that's at 60 mph or less. Here's a pic with my old 2nd Gen and how rediculis it looks.

And you have a 2nd gen with a better/lower RPM torque band for pulling....

It'll be fine if you're v6. It's a sub 5k lb trailer that won't be any big deal at all. Just keep it out of OD to keep the trans from shifting all the time and go. Contrary to what the internet will tell you, you don't need a 3/4 ton diesel pickup to tow a trailer...

And with that trailer loaded down with all your camping needs you'll be well above 6k if I remember our trucks can't tow more than 6.5k and that's not a good idea your trucks. I tow alot too but don't go above 3.5k cuz I like my truck anything over that I'll use my Chevy 3500 long bed that can tow a house if you want
