I agree with you 1000% i hate that no one ever pics their bass up and the ranges that take MY brass! The one i go to now i go it set up to where i just have to tip the RSO 20$ or so and he gives me 2-3 5gallon buckets of brass :D

    I like it alot

I retrieve what I can but my gun tends to eject them hard and many bounce into the range out of reach.

I used to until I learned that my brother's father-in-law reloads 9mm. Now whenever I go I pickup as much of my brass that I can find plus any other 9mm cases left around.

Speaking off getting brass..... any one have a good way of catching it at the range? More specifically from auto pistols. I got catchers on the ar15s, bolts are easy to grab, revolvers took my a while to figure out how to catch it but is smart and found a way. But the damn auto pistols go everywhere and cant find a way other then bending over and picking them up one by one.

Seen the little roller pickups but do not think that they would work that well.

I do think its something a lot of people just dont think about. Average guy who goes to the range once or twice a year probably doesnt even realize he could sell the brass. The same people who think reloading is difficult and only for hardcore shooters. But those who shoot more often should be aware they can.

Shooting onto gravel? I got nothing. The range i go to luckily has a paved shooting area so just sweeping with a broom works fine there. The couple that fly forward into the gravel i just pick up by hand

My range is a pasture. I put a blue tarp down. I never thought anything about it until I brought a guy shooting with me. First thing I did was put the tarp out. He nervously asked if it was for the body. Thankfully we had a fresh dug hole nearby that I pointed out. He didn't ask any more questions.

my range is all dirt and a fat layer of old discarded casings, starting to see more and more people use these sniper roll ups though
my mini launches brass 5 maybe 15 feet away so as of now its just throwing the free bass away sadly
my gsr though I just cycle the bolt nice and slow and keep all empties

I really really gotta get into re loading soon though, I wanna get into this 45-70 guide gun sometime soon..

anyone using a brass catcher on a ruger mini??

The ROs at mine sweep everyone's brass back towards people's benches while they are shooting. If people aren't taking it or donating to each other it goes in the brass bucket for the club to keep. To me a range that claims brass is theirs when it hits the ground is being petty.

IIRC my local range has signs that say please do not walk around collecting brass off the floor..

I kind think its a safety thing.

I know some people really get lost in their own search walking around with their heads down picking up brass gold carelessly

kinda like walking across the street texting then getting hit by a car :anonymous:

I'm sure there's been disputes over 2 people claiming the brass...and arguments at the range aren't good

But I quit going to public ranges many years ago

Yeah, my club has amateur hours on the weekends but is closed to the public outside those hours. When it's members only it's like going to your friends house to shoot. A friend with a nice range that is.

I picked one up a couple of years ago for $300. i would say 3 to 4 hundred would be in the range.

There can be variation in the price for rarer or higher end models, but the newer guns have 3" chambers and multi chokes systems that increases their prices.

I need to lookup the serial. Only says 1100 on the receiver, so hard to really tell

Gunbroker has very few used ones and I saw one that was pitted to hell asking $500 for

I think what those guys are trying to relate to you is they are out there for $300 to $400 when you find a good deal worth buying but yes the average price they're trying to sell them for is $500 to $600. At least, that is what I have been seeing also. I did pick up a Mossberg Maverick 12 gauge in perfect condition for $150,that's the kind of deals these guys are talking about. I will be able to turn around and sell it easily for $250
