What do you guys torque you ubolts down to, im taking off my leafs this weekend and don't know what to re torque them at when i put them back on.

 

I torqued mine to about 80 or so. I wanna say factory torque is in the 70s?

 

Anyone got some dbl cab first gen glass bedsides for sale?

 

Sounds like maybe Andrew is allowing you to borrow his kit...?

 

what sound deadener are you guys using?

 

Does anyone know how to remove a stubborn shackle bolt?

I'm guessing you tried a punch and big hammer? And lube?

 

I used wd40 and tried a hammer and it didn't even budge

 

Heat? May have to cut it off and then use new bushings and bolt.

 

Im already planning to use new bushings and bolts but ill keep trying, I have nothing to cut it with.

Is the shackle on truck or did it come off with the leafs. Either way, put a wrench/socket wrench on one side so its pinned to the frame or the ground, breaker bar on the other side. If that doesn't work, cut it. Also let it soak in some rust buster for a couple hours

 

Its The front shackel so its welded to the frame and i got the nut off the bolt just wont budge.

 

Try an air hammer while someone uses an impact gun on the opposite side

 

Do you have the axle fully drooped out? try to put it in as neutral position as possible

 

Only problem is that i have a gas tank on the other side.

I have a friend coming tomorrow so we can try more tools. But Im positive its beause of rust, the leaf pin snapped while loosening the u bolts lol so that made glad that im getting them rebuit. But thanks for the info ill let you know if i ever get them off lol

 

Don't do it fully drooped lol. You have the entire weight of the axle on the bolt. No wonder it doesn't want to come out. Jack the axle up until the leafs are at a neutral load and then it should pop right out
