So I walked in a place to look at the differences between the HiLiner and the 180 and to get an idea about what I am about to have to spend and what model I want to spend the money on. I walked out with a receipt for a $200 deposit on the HiLiner. Any body have any first hand reviews they care to share with me on the top? It seems like a good quality top to me but I have never owned a fiberglass top of any kind.

The truck is a 16' TRDOR DCLB MGM

I've had both ARE and Leer's I prefer the Leer's. When I went a few weeks ago to look locally I thought the Snugtop was ok, but liked the Leer and ARE ones better and the dealer said the Snugtops quality had slipped in his mind from the ones he sold recently. Bottom line go with what you feel you like best with your truck and a good dealer, because what's best is subjective and dealer after the sale service counts.

The Leer 180 had the metal frame door with two handles. I don't think I would like always having to open both sides. Between the two I felt like the quality was better on the Snugtop but I wasn't able to see an ARE up close

@johntoyota Have you had some time to live with the Sport Hi liner? I've looked around and compared them all and will be getting one this month.

I just dropped a deposit on a Snugtop HiLiner myself. After online research and visiting the Snugtop, Century, ARE, and Leer dealers I believe Snugtop has the best build quality. Their rear all glass doors and latch system are simply better in my opinion. Their standard double seals on the bed is better. And I was able to upgrade to a 500lb roof load rating as well! Plus I can do keyless entry with my Toyota key for.

I love it. So much head room inside. I even built an above tire platform and can still almost sit up right in it. The quality seems to be top notch. The door is great on the back. The fit is excellent! The color match could not be better. The only thing I wish I had were windoors on the sides. But since I have the bed in it I don't use it that much for normal storage but they would be nice.

Final thoughts are that I would definitely buy it again and you are going to love your purchase.

I researched the hell out of my decision when I bought my camper shell. I looked at Leer, ARE, ATC, Ranch, Century, Jason ALL in person. To me, the quality of the Snugtop was the best, with the ARE and LEER coming in pretty close behind. I've had my Snugtop on since May and I have had no complaints whatsoever. I even went back to the dealer to order the remote lock kit for it which I installed myself. It's very convenient to have it all on the keyless entry.

All you need is SNUGTOP PARTS #720230, which I believe you have to order from the dealer. It ran me $100 which was cheaper than what it was offered at point of sale. It took me about 30 minutes to install and it works great.

Thanks all for the great feedback to reinforce my purchase. I didn't know they would upgrade the hi liner to 500 lb! Great to know. I'll ask them about that. Cheers!

I think the high liner looks a little better than the leer 180

Could not be happier with the Snugtop Hi-Liner. I've had it for six and a half years now with the electric locking option. It has the extra headroom I need for loading my photo gear in and has not leaked once, even during a ten hour drive home in driving rain. Paint color match is also very very good with only a small amount of metamerism.
