Oem towing harness

howdy boys, just picked myself up a 17' trd offroad taco. Super white and this thing is awesome. The only issued i had was that the dealership did a stop sale on the tow package. Anyone have an idea what part numbers i need for the wiring? I already ordered the hitch and i gotta do it so any info would be great. Thanks

V6 Tow Package: Class IV Towing Receiver Hitch, ATF Cooler (Not Available On Manual Transmission), Engine Oil Cooler, Power Steering Cooler, 130-Amp Alternator, 4 & 7-Pin Connector w/Converter, and Trailer-Sway Control (TSC)

 

Ive been assured the coolers and all that comes with the tow package is installed minus the harness and hitch i also have it in writing.

 

I did not know that was an option.

 

As far as l am aware the Tow Package has always been a mandatory option on the Off Road.

 

What is Stop Sale?

 

Something just doesn't sound right about this! Why would the factory only install half of the tow package?

 

Almost sounds like the Dealer removed the hitch and wiring to put on another truck.

Once again what is a "stop sale"?

 

It was explained to me that a stop sale basically means theres something wrong with the specific product and they arent aloud to sell until the issue is rectified. And as i probably should have checked in the first place the tow package is not listed on the window sticker. I screwed up....

 

Your dealer lied to you. Probably didn't want to go through the hassle of ordering you a truck. I would check under the hood for the transmission and oil coolers. I bet you they aren't there.

 

Do you have one of these in the front, right below the horns? If not, you probably got hosed man...

 

Nope. At least not everywhere. SouthEast Toyota region allows configuring an OR without the Tow Package. They're not common but they exist. Don't know about other regions.

Something's not right with the story the dealer told the OP. Guessing he got screwed by the dealer.

 

You can't afford the factory wiring harness. Or at least you will suffer greatly if you go that route.

And your tow capacity is greatly reduced by not having the entire tow package installed.

If you are a light hauler, an aftermarket hitch and wiring will work fine.

 

If you have in writing that your truck has everything else still installed and it's not there, I would go back to the dealer and make them make it right! Not having the extra's installed greatly reducees your towing capacity.

 

A "Stop Sale" happens when a serious safety recall has been applied to a vehicle. When a stop order is applied, that vehicle can not be sold until the safety issue has been fixed. There has not been any Stop Sale orders applied to the 2017 Tacomas. Looks like you should go back to the dealer and fight this, if towing is important to you.

 

Well after a quick conversation with the dealer,they found one a couple hours away same truck same options and color with the tow package. I do an even swap tomorrow.
