    Component speakers have built in tweeters, would it be an issue to have separate tweeters hooked up to the system as well? example: Two component speakers with built in tweeters hooked up along with the factory/aftermarket tweeters that are in the stock location.

    Thanks in advance!

    Component speakers have separate Tweeters, I put my Tweeters in the black triangles where the mirrors are and they sound amazing. I don't know if having 4 Tweeters up front will be to much in the Highs department, plus I would think the better aftermarket Tweeter would sound a lot better the OEM tweeter.

    Hey thanks for your input, and that looks like a good location for the tweeters. I was wondering if there would be some sort of interference, the speakers I purchased are two ways and have built in tweeters. I also purchased aftermarket tweeters to replace the stock ones.

    Not sure but I think some of the Audio Guru's will chime in.

    You have your terminology mixed up
    Component = separate tweeter
    Coaxial = built in tweeter

    Adding a 2nd tweeter to a set of coaxial speakers would not be a good idea because you wont have a crossover for it.

    The tweeter I purchased says it has a crossover would that make a difference?

    These are the components I purchased
    I purchased a pair of Kicker Kst25 tweeters and 4 6.5" Kicker 40CS654 speakers

    The website description says it has an inline crossover which should work out OK. Be sure to read the instructions to see if it has to be wired in series or parallel. This is important to protect your amp, or head unit.
