The black ones look like they could be factory - at least on my white Taco, but anthing else I sort of have to agree.

I like the look of the "black out" or "special opps" trend that is goling on but for this truck I chose chrome because my truck is black so why bother with the black out look because to me it would not show well.

This is true. You have me leaning towards getting the chrome instead of the Stars & Stripes. Still have a month or 2 to decide. :)

Somewhat agree, but the black lettering looks awesome on white trucks.

Just need to black out my badges.

Here is my truck with black lettering.

My white sport was delivered with the black inserts. Blacked out the rest to the badges to make them match. I think they look great and not out of place at all.

    Love the badges.

When I go over the list of mods on my truck, a lot of people find it hard to understand the letter inserts are not OEM. I think they can look out of place on certain colored trucks, but they look great on white. Cement is another color that just "works" with these.

Yes those are the ones if you are talking to me. I'll get them on Ebay so I won't have to pay shipping. (No Prime subscriber here)

I just replaced my chrome letters with black last week. Much better IMO but I hate chrome though. They come on a strip but if I were to do it again I’d apply them one at a time. It’s nearly impossible to get them perfect all at once.

Just curious, what makes them better other than personal preference?

I would think the inserts would be a pain to wax around. That’s why I removed my badges.

IMG_20180702_083328.jpg This is mine with red lettering. Once these start to mess up will probably get brighter red ones. To install i just peeled dipped them in soapy water and tried my best to get them right. Let them sit for a day

These are more expensive than the others on Amazon but totally worth it. The inlays are constructed well, look OEM, and have held up to the AZ sun. The company is partnered with a local dealership here and I imagine are the inlays the other dealers in the area are using.

Greetings all! My new Tacoma came with $99 dealer installed chrome raised OEM inserts. I wouldn't call them tacky but I prefer the stamped only look. Anyone removed these and/or have tips? Guessing a beer, chair, heat gun, fishing line and WD40 would work.

The insert letters were easy to remove with a little heat. The TRD Off Road stickers needed more elbow grease and goo gone. I don't like stickers. Capture2.jpg
