What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Is that the one you got? the turn down exhaust? I heard that one is better and doesn't drone bad like the one I have.

How much weight can that rail/cover setup take?

 

could be worse, car next to me kicked up an 8" section of 2x4 on my way to work. Took it straight to the headlight and bumper

 

What exhaust did you end up getting? I just got the mbrp cat back and I am running into similar issues. It's very loud. I put dynamat along the back wall and that helped some but it's still pretty loud at certain rpm

It's so loud in the cab when taking off and when stepping on the gas. The drone is bad around 40-50mph. Then when flooring it, it gets loud and just not a good kind of sound. I thought of adding dynamat but don't wanna spend more money on something that don't sound that good. I'm just gonna take off and sell.

 

Yeah I got the same one only in black. She is pretty loud for sure. I assumed all cat backs were gonna sound similar so I haven't considered selling it at this point. Will other systems have less of a drowning out noise I the cab?

True...I have an 8 month old and don't want to scare here or wake her when she's asleep in the truck. Need something quieter so I might keep my stock one for now and get a K&N intake. I was told by another member that the TRD exhaust and the AFE hi-tuck exhaust are the only ones that are not overly loud. But I don't know much of these aftermarket exhausts.
