Let's See Your Dogs!!

Yep. We have stained concrete floors that stay pretty cool all year round so they would either be underfoot on the rug or wanted to be on the couch. Now they like their beds and are getting better about understanding they need to be invited into our bed/couch. It's a process to teach them but it's worth it.

 

Ya it is a process. He is starting to understand that the bed is an invitation only kind of thing but the couch is a little bit of a struggle.

 

Bath day!!!

 

Wife just sent me this via text. Says the dogs heard a vehicle go by that sounded like my old 4Runner, so they went running for the window.

 

Hard to get out of bed with a cute girl.

 

I don't really have to do it now that she is older but my dog got a swat on the butt no worse then what I would do to my 7 year old. Both dog and kid I am proud to say are well mannered and behaved. You do it when they are young and it takes little force. You find you don't ever really have to when they get older.

 

Every dog is different. Some can be trained while others can not be trained.
The breed has a lot to do with a dogs learning and behavior characteristics.
I'm a lab guy. For every great Lab I've owned I've had a knucklehead Lab too.
If a dog is a knucklehead and can't be trained accept it and let it be.

 

With this reasoning, I should give up on, everything? As a person who was told I can't go any further in life ...I whole heartily disagree.

 

Dog vs. human. Hmmmm..... I'm guessing there might be a slight difference in the areas of reason and logic. Just a guess, though.

 

It's been a few years since I sold my STi, but my boy's ears still perk up when they hear a Subaru with a loud exhaust go by the house.

 

This is Mollie. She is a Great Pyrenees. We adopted her 3 weeks ago at 6 months old, 49lbs . She is incredibly gentle with children and already very protective. She is a going to be a great dog!

 

Is she exhibiting any nocturnal tendencies? Supposedly Pyrs tend to have that in their DNA.

 

She sleeps on the floor in our bedroom and she will wonder around and be awake between like 2 and 4 in the morning. Nothing major. She is usually asleep by 1030 each night when my wife and I go to bed.

 

Good to hear. Pyrs are great dogs. Almost got a Pyr mix once. She is beautiful.

Thank you. We weren't necessarily looking to adopt this breed in particular, but when we saw her we immediately fell in love. Hard to believe someone would abandon her. They probably got scared when they realized how big she is going to get.

Idiots do that all the time. The get a giant breed dog and don't know it will be big? People that surrender Danes at 5 or 6 months are the worst. Who does not know how big Danes get??

 

The local goat herders use them to protect the herd. Great dogs. Always thought I'd like to have one, but I need my sporting dogs for hunting. She's a beaut.
