Amazon scammer?

Yup. Again, I've never not gotten anything I ordered through Amazon.

Odd thing is, Amazon refunded my money, but didn't cancel the order.

 

Amazon, or Amazon 3rd party (think of it like ebay resellers) ?

There are tons of scams on Amazon 3rd party sellers right now. They are banking that with the phony shipment notice, you can't really do anything to ask for your money back. Then feew weeks goes by, they close shop with Amazon, and gone with your money.

No offense, but you sound young.

 

The good news is the Falken's are great tires. I put a set on my Taco at New Year's, just in time for 14" of Colorado snow, and they drove through it like it wasn't there. Sorry about the hassle with your wheels.

 

Nope. Not young. Again, never ripped off on Amazon. Ordered a ton of stuff, literally thousands of dollars, and never a real problem. It's all good. Amazon already refunded my money.

 

I'm just replying to your question of 'is it a scam' ? Obviously it was, and you fell for it. Sure you got your money back from Amazon, but you still fell for it.

Your mantra of "never happened to me before" is a great way of something happening to you.

Most seasoned folks know this, that is why I asked if you were a younger person. Sorry, no offense in anyway. Glad you got your $$ back. Next time if it sounds too good to be true....

 

I really am amazed by the "you should have known better" and know it all crowd here.

5 or so years of using Amazon with only minor problems and I'm apparently a young moron for taking a small gamble.

Seriously, I didn't feel it was a scam until the wheels didn't ship for a week. I wonder how many other folks here would have jumped on the deal given the opportunity.

It never happened to me, until it happened. Now I know.

Seasoned folks? I'm seasoned enough to know that no matter what, I would have gotten my money back.

Anyway, no worries.

I'm with you, @Leeland111. Between Amazon's return/refund policies and the buyer protections baked into my credit card, I'll take almost any gamble through Amazon.

EBay? Not so much.

CraigsList? Mmmmm. No.

 

I would be in your situation too if they still had them for sale! I've used Amazon for the past few years with no problems too. Plus I always hear about people get great deals due to glitches etc... and they actually get them.

Besides, I already have a full refund and the order isn't even cancelled. Who knows, they still may ship the damn things!

 

BTW.. which methods are you getting? I'm about to pull the trigger on some this week too.

Laugh if you want. I ordered gun cleaning swabs from Amazon last year. No product after 6 months, asked for and got a refund. They showed up 3 months after that. Now, they were quite a bit less expensive than wheels...

that's partially why I only buy if its Amazon prime.
Figure its a bit safer since its actually from Amazon.

Just like I won't buy shit from members on here or any other forum/fb group if they say use paypal and send money as gift to friend.
You still get some protection with paypal like that...but its a royal pain in the ass to get the money back if its a scam. Speaking from experience.

 

This is what I've learned from Amazon, which I got scammed on a set of Focal speakers.


If it's listed on Amazon, they'll refund you if anything goes wrong. $1200 speakers, paid in full, shop closed down a few days later on Amazons website. Called amazon, had my money back that same day. It's the main reason I do 90% of my shopping on Amazon.

 

I heard a van was driving through your track with $2,000 audio system for only $500, you may want to go out and wave him down. Wait, never mind, it was just the ice cream man driving by.

 

word, I get a lot from them.
Haven't had any issues. Used to do a lot with ebay but shipping is always slow.
Since I almost always go with Amazon prime, shipping is free and I often have it next day if not the day after.

And a lot of the shit is cheaper than buying in store. Stuff I can get in store cheaper is only $2-10 cheaper and I often need to drive at least. Almost all of my recovery gear alone is from Amazon.
