I will probably never get why people treat such expensive machines (that they place their lives on the line in every time they drive it) so poorly.

There is a black Taco I see regularly traveling down the opposite side of the highway from me on the way home from work. The roof has a completely failing clear coat and it's rusting out. If you are going to park your truck outside likely under a tree, pull your head out of your ass long enough to wash the roof regularly, clay bar, and lay a good sealer/wax. :goingcrazy:

My baby is my F250. Something about Fords I just love looks wise. I also like the old body style from the early 2000's. They are like 2nd Gen Tacos, #inB4massivegrilles! I see so many on the roads with rusting fenders, bed sides, and tailgates because people treat them like shit.

No matter who you are, cars are very expensive. They are also not investments, they are basically always lost money, but a necessity to have. So I feel like unless you are filthy rich, you really have no valid reason to treat your vehicle like crap. the poorer you are the more you want to do little things to keep that vehicle in good shape all the way around.

There was also the July 4th Ford Excursion incident during the 2012 family reunion in Cape May... Excursion was parked in the parking lot of a well-known hotel called Congress Hall and it had Congress Hall signage on it
Person who confronted me wasn't even with Congress Hall. The Excursion was in a parking lot that was only open to Congress Hall guests for PARKING, but was open to public foot traffic. I started taking pictures of the Excursion, and the next think I know a glorified meter maid on a bicycle is riding into the parking lot asking me why I'm taking pictures of cars. In the summer, Cape May PD hires teachers who are off for the summer to provide extra assistance to the real police. They have no guns, handcuffs, tasers, or any police training. They only have a radio and a ticket book, and their primary function is to look for vehicles with expired meters.

I told this wannabe what I was doing and why, and he didn't ask to see my license or anything, but he asked where I was staying and I told him where as I pointed at the rental house, and then he claimed that somebody had called and complained someone taking pictures of cars. He was totally bullshitting me. For starters, I hadn't even left the house five minutes ago, and I'd taken a picture of one other truck in that time frame. It was like 3 or 4 days into a week-long vacation, and I'd been walking around every day taking pictures of trucks without issue. The real police had driven right past me on numerous occasions and not given it a second thought. The night before this Ford Excursion incident, another bike volunteer rode past as I was taking pictures of an orange 1930s hot rod parked in a public space. He did an honest to God double take and whistled in amazement at the sight of such a beautiful machine. An ice cream vendor let me take pictures of the red 1999 Suburban he used to pull his trailer at some point as well. Seriously, no problems.

I told this wannabe I'd been in Cape May with my family since Saturday and had been walking around taking pictures of trucks every single day, and then asked if this mystery complainer had been calling in reference to the past few days. I then proceeded to tell him that I'd just left the house 5 minutes ago and I was doubtful that anyone could have or would have responded to a non-emergency call that quickly.

He then acted as if I'd just confessed to some crime by saying I'd been taking pictures of trucks for days, and smugly said that the whole purpose of the bike patrols was rapid responses.

That was all well and good, but I'm 99% sure he just happened to be riding by, saw a guy taking pictures of an SUV and didn't think it was normal, and decided to flaunt his authority.

I politely but firmly put him in his place and he rode off. Didn't have any problems for the rest of the week.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I think REAL police are awesome! I've lost count of how many cool cops I've run into while on vacation and just in my everyday life.

While visiting my aunt in Atlanta in summer 2011, an Atlanta PD bike cop let me take a picture of his bike.

While I was at car show at Stabler Arena (owned by Lehigh University) in 2013 or 2014 (maybe 2015; can't remember), this woman wanted to take a picture of a large food truck that was selling food at the show. There was a large crowd. A Lehigh University officer (a real cop with training and full police powers) took notice and briefly stopped the foot traffic so this woman could photograph the food truck.

While at the Philadelphia Airport with my dad waiting for a flight to Dallas in March 2014, a cop from the bomb squad let me me pet his bomb-sniffing German Shepherd. I honestly did not think members of the general public were allowed to pet law enforcement animals except horses, and that brings me to another story of police awesomeness...

While on vacation with the parents in New Orleans in 2012, a mounted officer happened to be patrolling on Bourbon Street. There must have been half dozen people crowded around this horse petting it and posing for pictures. The cop allowed me to pet the horse and pose for a picture before resuming his patrol...

As a college-educated 20-something straight guy who is into custom trucks, hot girls, and good beer, there are two things I am not ashamed to admit...

#1 is that I will never be able to resist animals, especially dogs and puppies. Then again, it has been stated that there is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face. Dogs have a power over me...

#2 I am the only straight guy in my circle of friends who listens to Shania Twain and admits it... Anybody remember that Chevy Colorado commercial from 2004?

However, listening to Shania Twain on my Macbook Pro or iPod with headphones in is one thing. Listening to Shania in my Taco, by myself, even with the windows up and the music not turned up very loud, is something I will not do. It just looks weird...

There are, however, exceptions to the rule. The biggest one in my case is when my boss and close friend, a lovely Asian woman who is about my age, is riding with me. One time I told my boss that I had no problem blasting Shania with the windows down when she's with me. The reason I gave her was that a lone guy driving any vehicle while listening Shania Twain would probably look weird, but if there's a hot girl (my exact words) riding shotgun, that is entirely different. She couldn't stop laughing, and then she took a selfie of us and immediately snapchatted it.

Aside from the fact it was just me and my boss, and I wasn't singing, this commercial is basically a reenactment of me and my boss hurtling down Route 611 with the windows down on a sunny day blasting "I Feel Like a Woman."

Another noteworthy detail is that back in 2004 even the oldest first gen Tacos would have slaughtered a brand new first gen Colorado in every category, but I still love this commercial!

    Here's the aforementioned commercial...

I was drunk one night and used a 2.5" screw to put my interior roof trim back on. Didn't find it for a few weeks when I was standing in the bed, if I remember right. Anyway, I just thought that would fit nicely here.

I got off work one day and found a dude standing beside my Blazer (Sears parkinglot), with his two kids climbing around inside it like it was a goddamm jungle gym. Never met the guy before in my life. Said WTF!!??!!?? and slapped a pizza out of his hand. He told the kids to climb down, the told me it was unlocked and my mom (coworker) said i wouldnt care. I hauled ass.

This is random, but your drunk story reminded of this one time I called an Uber for me and my friend because we intended on drinking entirely too much, and we got picked up at my house by a guy in a 2014-2015 Tacoma DCSB base model (non-TRD, non-SR5) 4x4. The truck had a 4.0L automatic. Another time the Uber that picked me up after a night of drinking with friends was a brand new Ram 1500 Eco Diesel.

My Grandma has a vacation home on Mousam Lake up in Acton, Maine. One time my cousin took my picture in front of a red K5 Blazer in the parking lot of a surplus store called Marden's. I see absolutely no problem with posing for a picture with or taking a picture of a stranger's vehicle, just don't touch it! WTF was your mom thinking?!?!
