I bought a 2006 Suzuki Vstrom DL650 in September. It's my daily driver. I only ride the YZF enough to keep the battery charged and keep the gas fresh. It's fun as hell but it's also pretty old. The V Strom is the Toyota Highlander of motorcycles but it gets the job done at 45 mpg.

 

My coworker rides a 06 V Strom every dry day to work. He has never had an issues and rides the wheels off that thing. That bike will last you.

 

That's one of the reasons I bought it! There's a couple on Stromtrooper.com that have 400,000 miles on them. I only started riding last April but have ridden 9,000 miles so far. I pretty ride everyday. My truck has 200K on it. I'd like to see it hit 300k. At the rate I was going at that was gonna happen in 4 years. With the moto that won't happen for about 10 years.

Anyone in the market for a catalytic converter anti theft skid doohickey for a 2nd gen? There was a rash of cat thefts in my neighborhood last year so he put it on but recently sold his truck. New cats are about $1000 a piece from dealership.

I have 4 Procomp 7031 17x9 wheels wrapped in 275/70R17 tires. Wheels were painted all black and have been used off road. Tires are low on tread, but still have enough tread for this summer. $550 for all 4

 

Make him an offer, we were just talking about this yesterday, it's not out of the realm of possibility to buy it off him.
