Cool, It looks really nice, did you use custom mounts? Did they drill into the roof or what?

I used angle iron for the mounting feet. I drilled through the fiberglass and then mounted with rubber washers under regular washers. I had no leaks whatsoever. It was cheap and easy but some people may not like the idea of putting holes in their fiberglass. It wouldn't be hard to fab something up to mount in the tracks that are on most toppers from the factory.

    Are you still running 265/75/16?

I was running 265's for a few sets of tires. I then tried to switch to a 255/85/16 in the Cooper ST Maxx but that particular size was on back order when I bought my last set of tires so I ended up running a 235/85/16 Cooper ST Maxx. I loved the tire but I wish I ran a slightly larger size like I originally intended. I no longer have the truck any more though. I recently made the switch to a low mileage 3rd gen 4runner but find myself lurking here on TW quite often.

How did you like the 265/75/16 would you recommend it or would you have gone bigger?

I loved my 265's. I would consider myself a pretty avid wheeler, but I also commute 100+ highway miles a day. For me the 265's were a perfect balance for my needs. Im running 285's on my 4runner currently and Its a dog in the mountains, so much so that im looking at re-gearing. I feel like my tacoma with the 5 speed could have handled the larger tires much better but I dont regret running my 265's one bit. If I still had my truck, my next set of tires probably would have been larger.

You sir are correct. I'm still in CO and my c10 is actually a 1966. Why might you ask?

Thankyou, lots of hard work paid off and I practically built the truck off Craigslist parts. Patience and good timing found me some good deals on Craigslist.

I used to have it bookmarked but I loved looking at the pictures you had posted of it, I'm working (used very loosely) on restoring my '65 c10, that's been in my family for years and years.
I absolutely love the color of it.

That's awesome, I have a fuel injected 350 and 700R4 ready to pull out of a suburban and start the swap into the '65, gotta do a full restore on it as well.

It will definitely be documented, I don't know when I'll have time to work on it though, the last 10 days I've been working from sun-up to sun-down, I haven't even had time to finish working on my 4runner.

dents and missing bits, built in the Gravel garage, hillbilly trained mechanic…

Try Kroil or Liquid Wrench, or Sea Foam, much better product, and with leaf bolts they generally require cutting.
