Food Smokers and Smoking Tips/Tricks/Techniques

Hmm... maybe. I have been thinking about if for a long while. What I'd really like is a Q pit type thing, made with old bricks, where it's more of a command center of all things Q. My uncle had one in the 70s, built in the 40s, and you could do anything with it.

 

Something along the lines of this...

No shit, huh? I'd live outside with the fckng thing, just gimme a tent and a sleeping bag and a cooler full o beer.

 

My buddy has Rec Tec and likes it alot. I have a cheapo Chargriller pellet pooper from Lowes, but it's served me well over the last few years as my first smoker. Soon I will upgrade and I looked at Rec Tec but will likely go with Yoder.

yes, yes, maybe. Those things can be a maintenance pain. But what a fit... on second thought, yes

 

hahaa yea I'd definitely never own one. also I hear they absolutely KILL your energy bill.

 

My neighbor has one from the 70s that still works, wood fueled, no electricity. He's always dickin around with it though, needs constant care. Cool idea / design though. Very hedonist 70s aging hippie tree hugger granola eater thing.

 

hmmmm wood fueled would be pretty sweet! have your smoker box double as the water warmer and BAM! multitasking!
