Now I'm starting to see why this idea has never been patented.

There is a place down the street from my house that does custom brick/stone outdoor pizza ovens. I would LOVE to have one of them. With our next house build/buy wife and I have been saying we must do a full outdoor kitchen.

I looked at the Rec Tec, Yoder and Green Mountain Grill. I wanted a Yoder but since I am in S Florida I didn't see much additional value (twice as much) for heavier gauge steel. I liked the Rec Tec but there is not as much vertical room as the GMG or Yoder. I think the Rec Tec the best looking grill but I got a really good deal on the GMG wifi that I couldn't turn down. I doubt you could go wrong with any of them.

So far I love my GMG Daniel Boone. Simple and easy to use. GMG customer service is very helpful. I got a warped tray and the sent me out one the next day. The grill had hot spots and when i called they sent me an updated stainless steel deflector.

On Sunday I cooked 3 slabs of ribs and 3 split chicken breast at the same time we lifted the the Taco. Put in on 250 at 1pm and just walked away. At 5:30 i sauced everything and was ready for kickoff.

The majority of it is pretty straight forward to do. Now when I have to build the domed top that part I'm not sure how to do. I think I would just end up with a big pile of bricks and mortar lol.

I looked at all of them I ended up with a Traeger. Their rep took a hit for a while when they moved manufacturing out. They seem to have fixed all those issues and the reviews got a lot better. For me it came down to I found a local dealer who had what I wanted in stock so I was able to decide, go buy it, come home assemble and start using that night/weekend.

I did a ton of research on a lot of them, I would like a Yoder maybe down the road but I've had my Traeger Texas pro for about 1/5 years now and LOVE it.

Same thing here. The local dealer cut me a heck of a price. I think he sold it to me at his cost.

No doubt on some fire brick. I should go up to the place up the street some weekend when they are closed and inspect how they do them. Wife said she thought about getting me one for my last birthday until she found out the prices lol.

Sounds like how my friend got a free hot tub. All we gotta do is move it. Wasn't so bad once I told him we were going to use some gas line pipes, bring JUST the trailer back there and then tilt the trailer up so we could lay it down on it then tilt trailer back. BEST part was when I devised the idea to use some town straps and then use one of the guys with the tow straps like a mule. Worked awesome and amused the heck out of the rest of us.

Glad its just not my family. Baby sitting her new granddaughter keeps her busy enough and the mental side is now simmering down. She really just needed a job!
