Lube it. Seriously. I just did this on my driver door and it barely takes any effort at all now to open.

Open the door up and spray the linkage rods and down towards the actuator with WD40 or something. Will change your life.

    That said...

Ome bp51's aren't for first gens right? Has anyone ever made them work on a first gen? Not that I'm considering it, just curious

they were supposed to be making some for our trucks..not sure that ever happened.

You can NOT make 2nd gen coil overs fit our trucks. They have a 3'' extension for the lower mount to clear their CV axles.

So I have to take everything off, like in your pictures to lube it? Or taking it all of is necessary for replacement only?

You'll have to remove the door panel yes to lube it.

won't have to remove the door handle itself.

I am totally sold on this is how we brake our door handles. I lubed up the driver side door and it it buttery smooth now. My passenger side still has that pop too it and im going to lube it as well before my girlfriend rips it off.

All my handles are ok. Just the driver side have to pull up "high" to unlock it. I do it gently.

So you did NOT heat it up with a heat gun or lowbake oven method to melt glues? Do you think that would help?

I did that too. But it'll only take a few times from someone else not aware of your door handle issue to break it. What happened to both of mine.

It's easy to remove the panel and easy to lube it. Trust me, try it. I was giggity about it for 3 days and literally look forward to opening my door handle now. Its an amazing difference.

Hard to get a picture of but from the looks of it. the flat part on the bottom of the spring kinda acted like a lathe tool and shaved the edge oh the boot till it popped. These boots like to extend far on the axle shaft. My fault for not checking for contact when I put the kings on.
    I was too excited.

My CVJs shipped with a extra clamp and a note they may have to be moved. I had to move them in to work with my coilovers.

I have an extreme fear that if I do anything to it, I will break it. Since I am in Camarillo often, maybe I will stop by and solicit your help

I did not. I'll try it but I bet it wont work because what is keeping it together is like a molten plastic weld. If I heat it up to melt the seal it'll probably be the same temperature as melting the whole unit
