I vote derping. As cool as the BAMF grill is, its not $500 cool. My plan is to put that cash into a lift and derp the grill. If I like the grill I will peel off the dip and have it powder coated for less than a $100.

That's true. Very true. I suppose once all the money in performance mod's are done then if I want the BAMF then I could choose to get one. But right now that kind of money should be put into performance mod's. That cool grill wont get you nearly as far down the trail.

 

Dude, I just looked on their site and the grill you have is $450. The BAMF looks better IMO and right now it's only $50 more.

 

My exact grill is on the website for $378 + shipping totaling $407 to my area code. I probably wouldn't have paid that much, I got mine for $300 shipped because it had a "small scuff" on the bezel that I don't even notice. Give Matt a PM and ask him if he has any that are dinged or discounted, that what I did.

I liked the BAMF grill when I first saw the proto type. By the time people where installing them, which was a long time, I started falling out of love with them. They just make a large front end look like a black hole to me. And the lines don't really match the truck in my eyes. Dipped looks better to me.

I went TRD Pro, dipped the letters white and happy I went that route.

 

Both, I dipped mine before the long wait for my BAMF

 

dip. this is after buying the pro grill. Go dip. use that money for valentine's day dinner.

 

In my opinion the BAMF grille looks out of place on the truck. Paired with the few I've heard of cracking the trim in cold weather, I definitely do not want it. The Pro grille is nice, but nowhere near worth the price. I Dipped my TRD OR grille and I think it looks great. To me it's a nice looking grill, just not in chrome. Spent around $13 and it looks great. Might powder coat it one day, though. Who knows.

 

I purchased a Pro grille after I read about bolt surface rust happening on the bam f grilles. And I like OEM parts if I have a choice.

Yeah, but it might be more durable than the BAMF. I've heard about rust issues at the screws and that it can crack in cold weather.

 

Think I've decided to derp it for now and maybe go with the Pro grill later on. Can't beat $10 bucks and few hours of time. I like the Bamf, but have some concerns about durability as I live in a area with harsh winters. I'm concerned about rust and cracking. I also don't really want to "Bro" my truck out too bad. I think derping and the Pro grill are a little classier. Not to mention cheaper.

 

The BAMF grille wasn't what was cracking. It's the stock trim around the grill. Seems the BAMF is a bit too tight of a fit.

 

Ah, got it. That's the same as the grill itself cracking to me. It's still causing damage to the truck. If the grill cracked, I'd have to buy a new grill. If the trim cracks, I need to get new trim or have it repaired.

Yep - that was what happened to me. I will say though that it occurred in REALLY cold weather (-15* F). If you are not likely to experience temps that cold you wont have any issues.
