Show off your General Grabber X3s

Looks like I'm going with the 265/75 16 C-loads. The relatively heavy weight (53lbs) is still a bit puzzling though...

As per tirerack the red lettering is only on one side, and they are symmetrical. Can someone confirm the opposite side is regular black/plain lettering?

 

It's the weight that has me wavering on these.

 

I've been looking at those as well. The added weight for that must just be the extra meat it wears. You can see it in the shoulders.

265/75 r16, C-range, everything else is stock.

- Road noise - Very similar to bfg km1's (e.g. jeep rubicon), very tolerable.
- Balancing - Fine, used a regular amount of weights for a tire of this size.
- Acceleration - A surprisingly slight decrease. All 159hp are still present & feisty as ever.

- Ride - Very nice. The equivalent of putting 3-5 additional psi in the stock hankooks.
- Beach/sand usage - Excellent!

Thanks! Seems like the X3's run fairly narrow, there's still a fair amount of room around the upper control arms even with the more inwards offset of the steelies.
The tires are on the tall side of the spectrum though (which is great, I'd like all the ground clearance I can get at stock ride height), they just clear the air-dam as seen in that above pic.

How much clearance do you have with the 285's at the uca / spindle & backspacing of your wheels?

 

Okay now the pic is there. How are they doing in the snow? So no vibration at all at 60mph? That's what plaguing me now, can't seem to get the balance right. Rotated and balanced several times just getting worse. Take a few more close up pics of the tires when you can. Thanks

They're excellent, the mechanical keying into the icy snow really is an advantage over an A/T tire with a smoother tread.
Zero vibrations at any speed, just the typical mud tire hum. Looks like the shop used two clip-on weights for each tire/rim, as shown above.

What size and load range did you end up with?

 

Excellent. I'm still just looking at tires now. My Toyo AT's are the same size and load but only 45lbs I think. One disadvantage of the wheels I have they cant use the clip on weights on the outside and those are more effective than stick ons. Might be the reason for the balance issue? I may want to put red letters out? Anyway looks good.

 

The red letters do look great, but some people have had durability issues with them, apparently they are a vulcanized patch:

I actually have a set of trd beadlock style rims sitting in my closet which I bought with the truck, but the new-tire bug got me and with all the salt/sand of northeast winters I just went ahead & installed the tires on the steelies.

 

Finally got to go on some mild trails & beach driving, great performance on both, very happy!
