    One word.....WET

CMC rainout. Started pouring just about the time Everett walked out of work. Reschedule for Thursday.

Used time wisely! Found my tires cheaper! Mounted, balanced, free rotation, re-balance as needed, and road hazard inc. 285/75/16 Cooper STT Pro's $1080. BFG KM2, 285/75's $1125. KM2 255/85's same deal $990, but not available at the moment. (back ordered) New option. Yokohama Geolander MT, 285/75/16, mounted balanced and road hazard....$940. Good looking tire! (Directional tread) STT Pro and KM2 still at top of the list. I've dealt with these people before. Good follow up service.

I'm leaning heavily towards the KM2's at the moment, but the Coopers have my attention. I had KM2's on a Dodge 3/4-ton. They were squirrely under a heavy load, meh in snow (compared to other tires I've owned, including the Duratracs I have now) and sketchy on wet roads. (So are many mud tires) All things equal, I want to try something different. Have a funny feeling it'll be the Coopers.

I did see a set of 315/75/16 Yokohama Geolander M/T's this morning (in tire shop) that looked pretty impressive. Reviews say they wear quick. I can see that. No siping, so probably not a good wet road tire either. Directional tread means they clean good going forward and ZERO traction backing out of mud. I had "Grand Prix's and Ground Hawgs back in the day. Both directional. Both meh in reverse.

I am in between a size decision and a tire decision. 255 85 16s or 285 75 16s Cooper STT max(for sure if I go 255s), if its 285s I also like the nitto trail grappler m/t and the terra grappler at

I guess I should start my own build? bs thread and quit cluttering up every one elses

    Much luck indeed!
I assume you already meet most their criteria if you've gotten an interview. At that point, ask what is asked of you and what are advancement policies.

Good luck brother. I interview people all the time, a few pointers, most of it is common sense but you would be surprised...

    Dress decent
    dont cuss
dont discuss drama thats going on/happened in your life. we get people all the time that talk about past drug experiences and such
    ask questions
basically don't be an idiot and you should be ok......so you're fucked

We do behavioral interviews which are a little more challenging than your normal interview. If thats what they do, they will ask you a bunch of questions and want background information on past experiences and how you handled them. try to pick relevant ones to the job. dont be afraid to use situations where you made mistakes, we like those, what we are more concerned about is how you handled them and what the results were

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
When I interview people for engineering/technical roles, I test people for technical skill (interpret this drawing or schematic: what do you think the part is meant to do, are there criteria missing, etc) and ask about hobbies that reinforce or expand useful work skills.

What kind of robots specifically? Don't think I ever used Kawasakis. Tabletop, classroom, cleanroom, industrial, assembly/handling units, welding units, all of the above? Would you be doing installs, repairs, mechanical support, software support, all of the above?

You'll do fine I suspect if you show at least some awareness of their products.

Some criteria, yes. Troubleshooting robots is a very small.part of what I do now.

Thanks, and yes, I've been warned about the behavioral aspect of the second interview. "If you were a tree...." crazy Japs.

Mechanical/technical doesn't bother me, and I go 80% on electrical. These bots are industrial welding/material handling. The job is service/repair, troubleshooting, cell implementation, etc. The works. Apparently they train you well, I have a close friend who does the same job. May even get a month training in the Tacoma homeland!!!

Going to ask them if they have a plan for when the robots go sentient and rise up against their masters.

A couple years ago, we had a company do a presentation on job interviewing through their agency. They showed us a series of strange, unrelated questions. Each one had only 3 or 4 possible answers. Which reply was given put you into a percentile "group". The applicant's cumulative score would grade them accordingly. Questions on totally unrelated subject matter would determine your likely qualification as a "teachable" employee. It was explained to us that the premise was developed by the Japanese, and used by many of the larger Japanese industrial firms. A sample of the questions used in our demonstration ranged from "what is your favorite season" to "which is your favorite, chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla?" After we finished answering the questions, it was also revealed that the time we took answering the questions was equally important as the actual answer. That was a measure of how fast you could "think on you feet" when posed an unsuspected problem.

A test I took upon entering the Army years ago used a similar premise for evaluating personal in a nuclear weapons program. That was not so much on what answer you gave so much as how quick and how confident you were in giving a reply to ambiguous questions. And example of that was, "How high can a cow jump?". Answering the first thing that came to my mind was "The cow jumped over the moon" from the old nursery rhyme. That actually scored well.... The military went with the concept that it was ideal to get a person with high aptitude, but little emphasis on actual "hands on" experience. They preferred a blank slate that they could train to do things their way but a very trainable person.

So....Be ready for just about anything!
