I've also found out that if people really like you they just give you stuff too... The key is to be very nice and sociable...

One thing I've learned working at a bar is that a universal way of telling someone you like them is if you buy them a beer or a shot within a few minutes of meeting them. I've only bought a girl I never met before a drink once, but I've lost count of the number of times hot girls have bought ME a drink...

I'd just to a wrap that makes it look like the color I want. Forget spending thousands for a full repaint!

The reason I have no regrets and the heart of a lion probably has a lot to do with the fact that I'm the only bar-back at my work who doesn't smoke cigarettes. I've smoked cigars a few times, and smoked weed once, but will never smoke a cigarette. One of the other bar-backs who has another full-time job never smokes except when he's at the bar around other smoking employees. He once told me that if he ever caught me smoking a cigarette he'd punch me right in the mouth. On the opposite of end of the spectrum, another employee I'm friends with offered me one of his cigarettes and tried to persuade me to smoke with him.

The thought of you driving a motorhome pulling a Tacoma scares the hell out of me given your track record and strange magnetism for collisions.

I know that the "everything is for sale!" Has been thrown around. The reality of it is that sentimental value really has NO price. I have a "budget" rifle I got from my Dad. I swear there would be no amount of money I would sale it for

    Charlie,

I just read your post here. Thank you for sharing your story. I have a nephew with Aspergers and a fellow co-worker has it as well. I suspect there are a lot of people that are out there that are undiagnosed, especially people in my generation (born before 1970).

Keep on having fun experiences in your Tacoma. You've got a band of brothers and sisters on here that have your back.

First off, I'd like to say that if you have led a sheltered life like I once did and want a swift kick in the ass or smack in the face from reality, get a job at a bar. Having worked at a bar for more than 2 years, absolutely nothing shocks me, and I the bar where I work is a nice restaurant and dedicated live music venue in addition to having two bars. I've got it pretty easy, and the stuff I encounter is probably pretty tame compared to other places that aren't as nice. I cannot imagine nor do I particularly want to think about what people working at dive bars, strip clubs, or BDSM/fetish clubs encounter...

Here are some things I've learned...

When eating and/or drinking at the bar where you work, you ALWAYS wayyy overtip the bartender... We take care of each other

Staff at one bar will regularly give various kickbacks and perks to the staff of competing establishments. One bar a stone's throw from the one where I work has an industry night ever Sunday after 10PM where people in the business get 50% off everything. I've gotten some very expensive beers and shots for next to nothing!

Basically, we are all one big extended and very unorthodox family

No matter how much I see and hear, drunk customers always find a way to amaze me with their stupidity.

I've never actually seen drug use at my own bar thank god, but you will not believe the stories I've heard about where customers go to do coke. I've never seen anybody actually snort cocaine, but I've heard stories from veteran bouncers and bartenders; Everywhere from right on the bar in full view of everyone to the toilet seat in the bathroom, to a kitchen prep table.

Forget the stereotype about bouncers being thuggish brutes. Every bouncer I've ever met has been a very nice guy, and all of them have a day job. They just bounce on weekends to make extra money. One bouncer got punched in the face by a drunk guy after last call, but he didn't give him a well-deserved ass-kicking. He handled the situation properly and held the moron down until the cops showed up.

Working at a bar is very beneficial to someone like me with Asperger's because it helps them develop a thick skin. You encounter a lot of entitled jerks...

Ask me almost anything else! I've got a ton of stories!

You say that like it's bad a thing... I've never had a one-night stand and probably never will, but I wouldn't mind getting a free drink or two from a hot chick AND getting laid...

And I once had a drunk 50-year old woman ask me what I drive while I was at Puck on St. Patrick's Day back in 2011... I love bragging about my truck, so I gladly told her "2010 Toyota Tacoma. She was like "I'd get in that..."

She also tried to force her tongue down my throat that same night...

Also, from a technical standpoint, I'd don't think missionary sex is possible in a regular cab Taco unless both parties are the size of Verne Troyer...

To date I've only gone to first base in my truck...
