Woo, I hope your packing a pair of ears or a can. My 10.5 .223 seriously barks even with wearing ears, especially shooting factory ammo. Not too bad with my reloads. I can't imagine shooting it without any ears. Sweet gun and setup though.

She's definitely loud. I don't have a can for her so I'd have to use some other hearing protection.

I have a number of others, but these are my primary "go-tos" depending on the current situation:

Overall the SKS carbine is a rather nice piece; inexpensive to buy and shoot, reasonably accurate and quite reliable...

The only one that I own at the moment is a Remington .22 that could drive nails if it could make it through a mag without jamming.

I've been pining for a marlin camp 9 for a while, just to have a carbine that can share mags and ammo with my 3rd gen S&Ws

I had the .30 cal with folding stock as a kid. My dad removed the firing pin and I learned proper gun safety toting it around the farm as a kid. We still have it, but it lives in the gun safe these days. I shot it a couple times when I was a teen.

Realistic dream rifle? I've always like the steel Ruger mini-14 ranch rifle. SO classy.

I love M1 Carbines. I currently own 3, all WWII vintage: from the bottom on the picture - a Rock-ola, a National Postal Meter and an Inland. The top two rifles are a British No.5 Mk 1 "Jungle Carbine" and a Soviet M44.

Like trying to pick your favorite kid... Of all the guns I own I'd have to say either the Mosin Nagant or SkS. My dream gun would be the Garand.

My favorite, it's my "go to" gun for home defense, truck duty etcetera. I just need to put a set of flip up iron sights on it to finish it.

I also really enjoy shooting Garands - here are my 2. Both are Springfields. One is a late '43 and the other an early '44.

    Garands 2.jpg

This is one of my favorite pics - my wife took it while I was shooting on our range here at our place. You can see the last shell casing ejecting at the upper front, and the 8-round en bloc ejecting to the rear just above and in front of my head. PING!
