Just noticed this small leak while crawling under the truck this afternoon.

Transfer case seal? Very light colored oil.

Possibly. I recommend you clean up everything in an attempt to narrow down exactly where the leak is. It will help your explanation to the dealer when they fix it as well.

Not related, but, I also recommend greasing the driveshaft-looks like it has been awhile or you live on a dirt road.

That looks exactly like what happened to my truck last year. There is a seal on the transfer case which failed. Look at the thread "Premature Transfer Case Seal Failure." You might check if it's covered under the power train warranty.

Got it check out Saturday at my local dealership. It's a faulty transfer case output shaft seal. Luckily, it's covered under power train warranty. Getting it replaced later this week.

Good to hear you're getting it fixed under warranty. I was lucky they replaced mine same day since the part just happened to be in stock.

If this is the zerk i am thinking about, there was one out of the five that seemed to have some sort of seal covering it. I had to peel it off to grease it. Anyone else notice this, and wonder why it was sealed?
