Heres my 4 banger, questions about lift ect.

New to the forums so heres some pics of my 4cyl 5speed access cab SR5.

I want to give it a 2.75 or 3 inch lift but i am super tight on funds and i would need to get some new tires to match so any suggestions would be sweet.
And would putting a flowmaster on it be cool or stupid? Any suggestions towards that?

 

You can't go wrong with the ReadyLift SST Kit if you're on a tight budget.

 

biggest issue your gonna have is that your rear leaf's are under axle, so you can't life the back till you change them around to be over the axle.

 

A flowmaster would be absolutely ridiculous dude.... haha jk. I have one! they're totally awesome and I love mine.

 

Not so, they are sprung under the axle, but the Readylift kit includes an AAL to lift the rear. You don't have to change it to spring over axle.

Just brought my truck into the dealer today to get it checked out...turns out i blew a shock, piston, and one of the cylinders is leaking. $1,400 repair but all covered under warranty! *PHEW*

so im thinking 31x10.5 R15 tires without a lift would be fine yea?

 

I don't think anyone has tried 31" tires w/o a lift. I think there will be some rubbing. I've been running 30x9.5's just fine w/o a lift. You will have to remove the small black box from the rear of the front fenderwells or else 30x9.5's will rub.

So my dad just told me no on getting new tires because he bought my old ones. Come to find out they are only a year and a half old and they have like another 4 years to go...im kinda pissed cause my truck is stuck how it is for 4 years.

 

just tell him that the stock tires are undersized and are dangerous. lol. i gave my dad the keys and told him drive when it was wet and he understood

haha yea im going to just not bring it up for a month or so cause its my birthday in april until then ill try and get a CAI. speaking of which how do you like yours neslerrah? I just got the dynomax muffler installed and i love it! why did you cut your exhaust where you did?

 

I like my CAI, it brought out the Dynomax. If anything, still sounds great I will run it a few tanks before I determine how it will affect my MPG. I cut the exhaust behind the axle because I like how it looks (not seeing a muffler after the mudflap). I did this MOD more for looks than performance.

 

so did you take out the entire section of exhaust after the muffler? how does it effect the performance? how much did you get your CIA for?

 

I have a picture in my build where I cut the exhaust pipe. There has been a slight increase in throttle response. I had the exhaust cut for about 2 weeks before I add the CAI. I purchased the CAI used for $150 shipped. It is a great addition to my truck! I will try and get a video clip of the muffler.

 

sweet! I might end up cutting the exhaust. It shouldnt mess up the smog test should it? I just installed my fogs, a new battery and took out the secondary air filter today. (saved the airfilter incase i need to duct tape it back on to pass smog.
