Today I unintentionally got air. Was doing my best impression of Ken Block on some icy back roads and accidentally hucked it on an ice hump in a straight away. 10/10 would jump again. I really thought that my landing would be super harsh but for once the Billies surprised me. Was supposed to be a shakedown run after some engine and driveline maint. ended up being a shakeup.

Well right now LT is a ways off. I have Icons and some Whiteline bushings to go in first, junk is just sitting on the shelf waiting for warm weather.

oh i have been reading since they came out lol.
so, this is an interesting thing. so you like your 12 for towing more then the 3rd gen? i know driving a 3rd gen i was high strung and liked to be rapped out. my plan was 33s and 4.88 gears right out the bad to help with the shit gearing.
i would be towing right at the limit too. but it would only be towing 3 times a year to about 1.5hrs a way. I camp out of my truck and beat the shit out of the FJ. so i would rather not have another truck lol. i just want one midsize truck to tow and camp lol
    Thanks

Lol a 3rd gen would suck for towing that think. 2nd gens are better and my dads which is regeared and boosted beyond belief towing my 1st gen..it doesn't like going over 65 and get 6mpg while doing it..

If you want a tow rig...get a real tow rig man.

yea, towing a truck at max cap would suck and does suck. have done it a bunch. thats why its just a few times a year. no point in buying a full size for that. as it currently sucks renting a truck and trailer, i drive that, then the wife drives my taco out behind me. I was thinking 2nd gen but the damn 3rd gens look so much better. I was doing some math on a 2nd gen and the new cummins repower setup :D

I agree they look good, I'm digging the style. They just need to put in a drivetrain that doesn't require a whole bottle of viagra with every tank. The auto third gen is lazy feeling, everything you ask it to do is a chore. This is coming from a 2.7L driver.... but who knows maybe the manual makes it livable.

1st gen autos are dinosaurs so I can understand them having a tangible power loss (although not terrible), modern autos are much more capable and snappy, so why is this new one so lame? It's like asking an angsty teen to get ready for family dinner, he'll do it but on his own time.

The 2nd gen auto is on point though I have to say, I've driven quite a few of those and every one felt decisive and snappy if I pushed it.
