Just want a nice ride on and off road. Seems like there ok with all leafs on. I'll prob do 50% highway driving and 50% desert or trails.

My vote is to remove the overload. They are going to settle a bit too and get a bit softer as you put them through some flexing or whatever you're doing. I just swapped out my pack with the AAL that were "0" "-" and got a new pack both "+" which are definitely more stiff as far as I can tell so far but it hasn't been that long since the first set went on. I can remember them being stiff and then settling nicely. Even the vibes and such settled down after about 400miles or so... my 2 cents

Removing the upper overload will have no effect on unladen , on road ride because the main leaf pack will never be in contact with it

Or you could save some money and buy the icon progressive AAL's. Gives you 1.5 inches of lift

I've gone back and fourth on that. Worried that 1.5" won't be enough to match up with the front.

The difference in cost isn't a deal breaker. I think I'd rather go with Dakars and be able to take leaves out than go with the Icon AAL and be stuck with not enough lift.

The problem with an AAL is that it's supported a great deal by the factory springs - which are shit. As the factory springs get worse, more load is put on the AAL - flattening the AAL. Get a leaf pack and do it right the first time.

I do keep over 400 (probably over 500) pounds of stuff in my bed at all times, though. I'm probably going to pull the overload out this summer to reduce my rake a touch. A full trailer of firewood (without removing any of the weight in the truck) is the only thing that's made my truck sit level since installing the Dakars + AAL. I have slightly more rake than I'd like - with my 3" of lift up front.

Gotcha. I'm same but +.75 up front from your measurements. I'm definitely curious to see how these new Dakars settle. Are you runninig any weight on the bumper? HC Bumpers/spare? I see you've got a few hundred pounds in there.

I have a bunch of weight in the cab (mostly tools in my dog bed/ tool box), plus Pelfrey skids and a CBI hidden front hitch for my winch (that lives in the bed of the truck).

My Northstar battery might count as extra weight up front too

Timbrens are prett good that's what I've got. Super bumps use a more absorbing material. For example before I swapped out to Dakars I was hauling my Xmas tree and used my bump stops a bunch through the ride home and I'd say super bumps for light off-roading, timbrens for expo and heavier wheeling, and hydrolic bumps for crawling and beating the shit out of your rig wheeling

Remove top overload- matches very well with 2.5" lift up front.

    And yes, Superbumps all around.
