After one week I am very impressed. They ride great and are much quieter than I expected!

I gotcha. I never keep tires longer than 20 or 30k so my opinions should be taken with a grain of salt. :)

I noted that several post here comment on how heavy these tires are. Just honest curiosity, but compared to what?

From what I see the A/T3W 265/75r16 is approximately 44lbs to 55lbs depending on the load rating you choose while the more common KO2 in the same size is 53lbs. This looks to me to be a better to an average option from an AT.

    Compared to T-Bone steak.

Every other tire i saw that is offered in the same load rating and size is lighter than my AT3w

Every tire or every AT? Every AT I look at is within a pound or two of the A/T3W, but I'm going off of Tirerack's limited offerings as Discount Tire along with most other online retailers do not post weights. The OE Goodyear in a 265/75r16 is 42lbs, if I can believe what tiresize.com, since that only other site I have found that has weights on the Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure with Kevlar.

The only tires I find significantly lighter are All Seasons or they are the OE size.

I'm not trying to challenge anyone, but I'm not seeing the same as others are posting.

There's 6 pounds between the AT3W and my winter set Cooper M&S studded. When I weighed everything the coopers came up 6 pounds lighter. These aren't the heaviest ATs but I think they def are up there

Then this make me seriously question the manufacture/retailer published weights. Checking out the Cooper M&S on Cooper's site shows that the 265/75r16 in a load C is 44lbs.

Mine aren't LT, they are just the standard loads. I forgot to weigh everything unmounted. But both sets are mounted on the same TRD sport rims.

    1. You aren't asking the right question. My Falken tires are a 285 70r17 in a standard load range. I came across no standard load range tire in this size that was heavier when I was researching.

    2. If I need an all terrain tire , why would I go looking and comparing these to other types of tires? If I am shopping for a truck, I don't go looking at cars. The Falkens AT3w is an all terrain tire. I only compared it to other AT tires. Do you know what type of tire you are looking for? This is always a good place to start.

    3. Good luck.

    Never ending......$$$
Just an update...I've had these on for almost 3 weeks. It's been raining crazy out in San Francisco these past couple weeks and these tires have been awesome in the wet conditions.

I've also been up in the snow with them for about 7 days total and everything that has been thrown at them ice, powder, packed snow, and lots of water....these tires have been great!!! Well see how fast they wear as others have noted but all in all I love these tires!!!!!

Btw, I'm running 285/75/16 at 35psi. My gas mileage sucks but I can live with it if these tires keep performing like they are!!!
