I've driven near about two million miles shifting gears, and I don't miss it. Especially now that I'm spending 2.5+ hours in traffic to get to and from work.
I don't hate stick shifts, I have fond memories of them, just don't regret giving them up!

I enjoy driving a stick, makes every car a racecar. Mad respect for your skills shifting off road, never learned to be that disciplined with it myself, never intend to lol

You ought to try to drive his truck. The clutch with the locker and the 4 cylinder make a pretty interesting combo.

Every time I get into an automatic car my foot goes straight to the floor where the clutch used to be

Also my neighbor got stuck of the road on here mini-van which required to be winched out, so I was in the driver seat and I couldn't get it out of park either. Not to mention she had to tell me how to turn it on :anonymous: who knew you had to press the brake to turn it on :bananadead:

    Manual for life :headbang:

Anyone here have any personal knowledge regarding Yokohama Geolander M/T tires? I'm not a fan of directional tread, but they are an awesome looking mud tire.....and very low price compared to some others. Won't be buying, just interested.....

My favorite is after driving my car all week, I'll come rolling Into a stop in the truck and forget to clutch. The people around you find it amusing. Ha ha.

Seeing I learned to drive an automatic and ever since then it's been manual 365 days a year just about. So like 7 years without driving an automatic regularly :notsure:

Ha that sucks! I've only stalled a few times in the past couple years, all because I was being stupid or off-roading :anonymous:

But you had to know SOMEONE was gonna bust your chops over the automatic thingy....:boink:

All of my previous 3 Tacoma's were sticks. The first couple month's I had this one, I kept reaching for the shifter, wanting to downshift into turns...Old habits are hard to break.

Oh yeah! If you own a first gen, you have to drive a stick. Haha
Driving an auto has never crossed my mind. I own 5 cars, all of which are stick including Sarah's FRS. Got my license on a stick even. I put in no more effort driving a stick then driving an auto. Once you get good at it and start doing it subconsciously, I may as well be driving an auto. Haha
Yeah it's not the easiest truck to drive, especially offroad. I've said that a bunch of times. Try rock crawling in it. Haha

Taught my wife to drive Manual when we were about 15 years old. It was hell. Awesome to watch her now though.

The first vehicle I ever drove was a 1963 Chevy 3/4-ton pick up with a "3-on-the-tree". First vehicle I ever drove on a public road was a 1970 Autocar tri-axle dump truck with a 13 speed Roadranger. Owned a '67 Chevy II Nova super stock (drag car) in the '80's. It was a 4-speed car at first. Switched to auto (powerglide) in 1984. It went from parts breaker to very competitive with that change. Cars and trucks I've owned total over 50. More'n 30 were manual tranny. That said, I prefer auto's now. Advantages and disadvantages to either.
