Since I don't have DTRL, I keep my headlights on all the time. This causes the display for the clock and compass/temp to dim to the point where I can't see them during the day. Has anyone done a wiring mod to keep them at full brightness all the time?

I'm thinking it might just be a matter of simply rewiring the illumination circuit for these to a constant 12V source switched by the key. For the compass/temp, maybe I could tie into the map light power and for the clock, something like the fan switch or the lighter. Would either of these ideas cause some unexpected problems?

I traced the wiring and snipped 1 on the temp/compass cause i had the same issue on a nearby highway (headlights required to be on).
Cannot recall the wire color. As for the clock, it rlly didnt bother me as much since i use my gps.

Im sure we arent the only 2 with this gripe, lets see who else can chime in

Did this today when I had it down to re-solder the 510 resister after it popped loose for a 3rd time in 11 years. I found a micro rocker switch that is only 0.5"L x 0.25"W and mounted it right next to the display and it's not that noticeable. Works as described above.
