A little JB and you'll be good to go...

Edit: Boss said stay home tomorrow and work from there. Sooo, I'll be home working a bit but also riding the Quad around pushing snow for the fun of it...

Something is wrong with my steering. Feels like the tires and wheel are doing their own thing. Every little bump in the road also seems to give feedback to the wheel.

hearing a clunk random times when turning....can't tell if its in the front or the rear....not constant at all........with or without a bump in the road......I need to get underneath and check things out. Happens at low speeds and does not seem to be dependent on how tight my turn is. From what I can tell nothing is rubbing in my suspension.

So far, only thing I can see is there is a almost unnoticeable amount of play in the driver's side upper balljoint. Not sure if that would exaggerate into the wheel. Everything else appears to be solid.

Edit: the power steering fluid is a hair below the cold-minimum line.

The spec for ubj tolerance is like hundredths of an inch. If you can see movement it's bad.

Mother fucking ice. But ya. On the FJ the bottom of the rad is level with the bottom of the bumper so it's possible for something, likely ice in this case to come from under/ behind the bumper but before the front cross member and hit the radiator.

You can just barely make out the bottom of the rad hereIMG_20170207_160709006.jpg

There is also a mod here to firm up the u joint on the steering shaft which is pretty easy. The bushing gets worn and loose over time leading to wandering feeling

I could only tell when the tires are in the air. I also have the LR UCAs.

Part of me thinks it could be the rack and pinion. Could explain the numb spot when the wheel is centered, and the clunking noise, which I usually only hear when offroading. I might need a second opinion on this one.

This. I was in a union in my 20s and it was awful. The stewards were department managers so they fought for themselves and their cohorts, then told rank and file to go shit in our hats.

That's because the ball joint self-centers when there's any weight applied, due to the way it's shaped. When it's loaded (weight applied) it has to have a lot of slop in the joint for it to have any movement.
