Hey guys, I just recently bought a lift kit, wheels and tires for a 2016 OffRoad. I got the TRD 4Runner wheels, KO2's (285/70/17) and Blisten 5100 shocks with 2" blocks. I'm pretty mechanical guy. Iv'e built a few track bikes in the past, so I know my way around the garage. Will there be anything I need to know that is not straight forward while installing the lift. I already got a spring compression tool. Is there anything else I may need or do you think this is a pay the man job? Thanks ahead

I would suggest editing the thread title before you do any lifting.

Disappointed bro... I was expecting to read about a Taco Bro... wanting to get a life.. it's just a lift.

OK seriously you have an OR with a decent suspension you bought 5100s and BLOCKS??

Take the blocks back and get SPRINGS... suggest 885s up front and Icon Progressive AAL's in the rear. Now you will actually have a slight upgrade ... with Blocks I think that's going to be a step down from existing but 2" taller and ride like shit... that's just me.

Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road should hook you up.

885s, 5100 set at 0", Top plate spacer kit, longer studs for struts if the kit doesn't come with them, also 2" AAL. Junk the blocks. Installing the AAL was a pain in the rear until I had a buddy help. I would highly suggest just having someone put together your strut. Those spring compressors are super dangerous. Taking it to a shop is really quick . You'll only pay like $30-$40.

Ok, forgive me for my lack of knowledge. This is the lite I got
(2" FRONT / 2" REAR LIFT KIT WITH BILSTEIN 5100 SHOCKS FOR 2016 TOYOTA TACOMA)
Going off what I am showing you, what else would I need for the front and rear? Do I need to touch the leaf springs or will it be all struts?

Looks correct. You just want OLD MAN EMU 885's Springs, Toytec Top Plate Spacer Kit, and Toytec 2" AAL. You will not need new u bolts for the Rear lift. Those are the additional parts needed. It'll be WAY smoother.

Have a shop put together the front lift. It'll save you a lot of time and there's zero chances of getting hurt. Those 885 springs are pretty stiff.

As others have mentioned, get a set of coils, I went with the OME (Old Man Emu) 888. Do the AAL (Add A Leaf) out back, no blocks. I went with the Deavers 1.5"-2" AAL.

I would suggest marking your alignment disc on the front before you start taking things off. This way when you put it back together, it will be good to drive to the alignment shop.

What's with all this..."have a shop put the struts together" crap. Come on girls...I did mine with a jack on the truck.

1/4 block for the "taco lean" (drivers side), 885 springs front and Icon AAL's rear... the hardware will be included with those ... longer u-bolts is part of the rear AAL kit.

AAL = Add a leaf, Icon there are 3 extra leaf springs per side.. that give you about 2" or so lift. With the 885s and 5100 set to zero you will be about 2 lifted and level side to side and front to rear.

This suspension will actually be similar to existing ride but lifted and tighter when the truck needs it. Off road keeps the wheels on the ground and in turns keeps the truck level giving you more street and off road performance without breaking the bank and shitty ride. Blocks... not so much.

We had issues lining up the top hat and the lower portion of the shock. It had to be taken apart multiple times. Not worth the time to me if I had to do it again.

That's two 885 springs up front and AAL's for the rear. Meaning I don't need 885 springs for the rear?
