Belt Line and Luna in Carrollton. It's a decent little fishing spot too.

I'll be camping out there for a few nights, Thurs-Sun. I am going with my dad who will be driving his truck as well (old S-10). I have a truck bed tent and he's got a camper shell. Between the two of us, we have all of the other standard camping gear we'll need. We still haven't decided if we'll camp at the National Park or State Park. I guess it may depend on what the TW guys decide and availability in general. Now that I have vacation approved, it's time to do some research.

BBNP doesnt require much for 90+% of its "trails". Its really just dirt roads from what I drove when I was there in november. I could probably drive any 2wd car with low clearance on atleast 50% of the roads. Any High clearance 2wd vehicle could do 90+ percent of it as long as its dry, maybe even everything. I had my stock tacoma out there and did the "hardest" trail they had with little to no effort running 4wd. Only change to my truck from stock was new Ko2's. I did have a spare with me and never needed it, though I have heard of many people blowing out 2 tires in a day while there.

Off the trails are Back Country camp spots that you can pay to use at the ranger station. They let you know whats available and give you the passes required to use the camp spots. @Zac of all trades will let everyone know where the camp spot is going to be once he figures out the best spot(s) for the size of the group going. Multiple sites may end up being required.

@Zac of all trades is planning on Big Bend NP not Big Bend Ranch SP from what I understand. Though I do want to hit the SP sometime in the next year or 2. From what I've read it has some more diffcult/less maintained trails that get a less traffic and can be somewhat overgrown. That could be good or bad depending. Some of the pics I've seen from the back country sites look really nice though!
