Offroads are included as long as its before the listed VIN. As opposed to non-offroad models where all 2016's were included. But, if you don't have the vibration the stopping in neutral test for comparison is pointless.

FWIW, I have a non off-road 2016 and my VIN isn't included, but I did get the dealer to check anyway and I'm getting the TSB work done.

Anyone have any luck on getting this done on an Off Road Double cab manual transmission. I took my truck in for this issue and told them about this exact problem but not about TSB. They called me back and said they couldn't replicate the issue and then said "besides you have a lifted suspension on the truck maybe that's the cause" I replied they must have tested the wrong truck they assured me no that they didn't. I proceeded to tell them my truck has no lift and it is completely stock. Everything is stock. These idiots can't even tell a stock offroad? And yes I bought this truck new with three miles and was ordered so I am sure there is no aftermarket lift on it. Incredible...

According to the TSB, all 2016 non-OR are included. The VIN reference is only for off-road models. That's the way I understand it.

It's not how I read it, but they are doing mine anyway.

Do they have to take the steering wheel off to execute this TSB? I just got mine back after they added a steering wheel dampener and my alignment is f$%!-ed. The wheel is cocked to the right 5-10 degrees (has to be) driving down the highway to stay straight and it wants to pull to the left bad.

It didn't do this at all before the service appointment. They did my 20K service work and added ONLY the dampener (no rear leafs since I was technically within specs). I'm wondering wtf happened to cause this and my only guess is that they took the steering wheel assembly apart and put it back poorly.

It says right on the TSB it applies to all 2016 models except the OR so yours is covered.

"This bulletin applies to ALL 2016 model year Tacoma vehicles NOT equipped with the TRD Off-Road Package option."

They could have worded it better with regards to which OR are included.

Yeah for sure. The way i read it is that it was fixed mid year 2016 and that the vins listed are the ones that need to be fixed. I did see the part that says all 2016 except OR.

Sounds like they didn't do an alignment or didnt get the rear axle aligned with the pins on the springs. Id take it back immediately.

    .
Traded my Gen. 2 TRD OR 4x4 off because of driveline vibes that made me nuts on acceleration.

Never had this problem with any of the 4x2's.

I did. They aligned it and its fixed.

Here's the thing. They didn't do the rear leafs portion of the TSB. I was within the angle specs so I technically didn't qualify for the TSB (even though I have the vibes). So, they offered to add the dampener to help.

If I understand the TSB correctly you don't need to remove the steering wheel, so I'm not sure why anything would be out of alignment.

When I asked what caused the issue they just shrugged and said it was fixed. Honestly, I ultimately don't care if they screwed something up. I'd like to know what they did but as long as it's fixed, documented, and doesn't pop up as an issue in the future I guess its just pure curiosity on my part.

You guys have any ideas on what they could have done? It was the 20k service as well. So lube, tire rotation etc.

So if my vin doesn't match the bins on the tsb. Does that mean I'm good and don't have the driveline vibration

...^^^... In the past, Toyota had originally missed some VIN's and added them later ... so I really don't know ...

My driveshaft was replaced over a year ago. The dealer probably would have told you.
