    There's a topper rack for a 1st gen in the marketplace right now I've been eyeballing. Can't quite bring myself to do it.

    I've gone on a lot of trips and never had a lack of room in the bed.

    Never enough
    The biggest benefit to a roof rack in my opinion is the ease it provides for carrying long items like lumber on the roof. How often you do something like that will dictate if a roof rack is worth it for you. I imagine a lot of people on here do that fairly frequently. Of course it can still be done without a roof rack but it does make it much easier.

    I'd like to have recovery gear on the top. And it does look expo as fuck. Hard to bite the bullet on that price.

    I'm torn on that. It kinda makes it a pain to access, though when your bed is full it could be a pain to get to the gear in there.

    I like having mine up there, other than the weight being up high. Still easy to access. Well, for standard size people, @kashtyaatsi might need to also carry a ladder.
