Well that was a rough ride home from work. Not sure why we didn't just close, got there at 945 and left at 115. Roads are in terrible condition and visibility is like a foot or less with this wind

 

Because corporate greed. Money is more important to most companies than the people that work for them, regardless of what they say to the contrary. The bigger the company the worse it is.

Yup. After the winter 2 yrs ago my company gave everyone laptops so we could work from home when the building is closed. I don't have one though *snicker*

 

Unfortunately you are right. The worst part is it's a small locally owned business that "values" its employees highly. I had to convince my boss to close at 1 because we hadn't had a customer in almost 2 hours. Good thing I work in alcohol retail so o got some goodies to go home with

my company is pretty good about telling the field reps to stay at home if there's bad weather. two people got killed a couple years ago in a traffic accident

 

I should also add she has chicken and dumplings cooking in the slow cooker

To the outsider my company is all about being a "good corporate citizen" and all the good PR stuff. In some ways that is true, others not so much.
