    Apologies for the delay.

My metal background isn't quite as extensive. When I was a kid I got a tape player for my birthday. Dad gave me some tapes (Kiss, Metallica, Bad Co., AC/DC, Def Leppard, etc.) - I'd say these are my staple bands as they are what got me started. I listened to classic rock throughout my entire childhood (big Stones fan) and also mainstream rock (Alice In Chains, NIN, Disturbed, Pearl Jam, Nirvana - insert generic band on the radio here). Also listened to hip-hop and still do.

When I got into middle school I was really big into skateboarding and that's where my music tastes developed. Listened to a lot of punk/punk rock/ska - Misfits, Ramones, NOFX, Dead Kennedys, Rancid, Black Flag, Refused, Subhumans, Bad Religion, etc. I still listen to alot of those old punk bands and love it. In like 10th grade I got into screamo/metalcore bands: Underoath, Dead To Fall, Everytime I Die, August Burns Red, Veil of Maya, Parkway Drive, - then in 2006 or somewhere around there I randomly went to a Cattle Decapitation concert and got my mind blown. Started listening to a heavier bands after that: Psyopus, Animosity, Cannibal Corpse, The Faceless, Black Dahlia Murder, etc.

Nowadays my main taste is hardcore: Have Heart, Verse, Expire, Rotting Out, Cruel Hand, Counterparts, Kublai Khan, etc. I also listen to a fair deal of metalcore/deathcore: I Declare War, Thy Art Is Murder, After The Burial, Aversions Crown, Rings Of Saturn, etc.

I'm a big ol cluster fuck of musical taste.

You and I might be the same age. I grew up with the Seattle sound. Soundgarden is the first stoner metal band! But Pearl Jam and Nirvana hit when I was 12 and was a huge scene when I was young. AIC is untouchable. Tad is an awesome band. I failed to mention I love Primus too.

Holy distortion in the Uncle Acid track. I see a resemblance in the links you've posted thus far.

Can't say I've ever heard of Tad. I used to get down to Primus quite a bit, too. "5 Gallons of Deisel" was my first real introduction to Les, aside from their mainstream songs (My Name Is Mud, Jerry Was A Racecar Driver, Too Many Puppies, etc.). Another band that really had an influence on me was Incubus. I remember when I was a kid, I asked for "the Incubus album" for my birthday, not knowing they had multiple albums out at that time. The album I was referring to was Morning View, but my mom made the mistake (more like saving grace) of buying me their album S.C.I.E.N.C.E. I think that mistake by my mom drastically changed the music I listened to at that time in my life. For the better.

A little off topic, but figured I could throw a shameless plug for a couple local (to me) band from my hometown Rapid City, SD. These guys don't have much for material, but they've been playing local shows throughout the region for a while now.

I really dig the style Souls has taken on. A lot of short, hard hitting tracks.

Woman Is The Earth kind of fits in with the Voyager link you posted.

Tad is a band that came out during the Seattle scene that didn't make it to the Pearl Jam and AIC status. But their 1993 album is epic. It's way dated but I was so into this when I was 13...this is Tad. Too heavy for the mainstream but totally in line with early AIC. Just more balls.

Weird Stoney thrasher tune we wrote. First part is old boring thrash then it just goes into a plethora of riffs and slow jammy stuff. Killer solo on this tune tho...

I wouldn't say it's boring at all. Definitely jam. You guys have that stoner metal sound down pretty well.

We play in Denver the 25th. I'll hit ya up to see if you are around. At the bar bar..never even heard of the place but should be a fun little show. We've played with Native Daughters a lot lately. They are a rad instrumental metal band.

I saw that release on Spotify the other day, I don't think it's bad at all. I've noticed Spotify is really trying to cater to metal fans as of late. There's been a ton of "Recommendations For You" with bands similar to what I have in my playlists.

Off topic, but does anyone on here still use Last.fm??

i've been having real good luck with Google Play Music lately. got to listen to the new Metallica album on release day (it's not very good), and they have more obscure things like Protestant and Crucial Unit.

I still swear by Spotify Premium. Worth every penny.

I find it slightly ironic that Metallica's latest album was available on multiple streaming outlets on release day. The guys that took down free file sharing have their music available for free streaming. Granted they get paid for it nowadays, it's still a little entertaining.
