    Check out the build
I'm looking at getting a high clearance. The AP is as high clearance as you can get on a standard bumper.

Do you guys usually do your own taxes or have someone do them for you like H & R Block? We owe a lot every year, and I'm starting to think Turbo Tax blows balls.

I need a dirty sleazy CPA to fuck Uncle Sam for me. That sounds weird, but you get the point.

my mom runs her own CPA firm so i just hand over my shit to my mom. Shes by the book 100% and isnt the "screw over the gummint" type. But i have mine set up so i dont owe, and if i end up owing it isnt much. Typically i have a few K to play around with.

If you're getting a refund, you are overpaying. Conversely, if you pay, you're not withholding enough.

And there is no good way to avoid paying. They will catch up and you will pay. One of the few agencies where "due process" doesn't apply.

Seems like I'm fucked either way. I'm paying a lot out of my paycheck, and still owe. I need to start selling crack.

I went to H&R once and they fucked me. I called ahead and told them what forms I had (because that's how they base their pricing) and was told $85 or some such number, so I make an appointment, go there, sit down with the dude and get everything plugged into their computer and filed. Then I go to leave, and they tell me it's $350.

After that (and before) I used Turbo Tax with no issues at all. Once we got the house and the kid and added that to our other stack of random financial papers I just send it all to my CPA and let him take care of it, last year I paid $150 for Danielle and I both. If you're paying a bunch, adjust your withholdings. Turbo Tax works pretty great, but being automated it's not going to try and swing a deduction you don't really have access to. Their program is intuitive though, so it isn't missing anything if you put your information right.

FWIW, I went to H&R originally because Turbo Tax said I owed money. H&R uses pretty much the same shit since those tax preparers are just entry level goons putting numbers in an idiot proof computer program.. that said, I've never found any difference in what Turbo Tax says I owe/refund or any other tax prep method I've used, and it's affordable and easy.

Gotta say, the whole tax thing is something I wish they'd fix. There is no reason you should have to go through this hassle.
