Total Chaos still sells the spindle weld it yourself gussets to prevent that from happening again, I can weld it on if you want.

Its too bad they dont make the race type that the 2nd gens have. I've seen a couple of these get bent, but better than nothing! Im surprised the material isnt thicker at least, I've welded tons of them on and wonder why they didnt use thicker material.

Can't remember the 2nd gen spindles, if these gussets were 3/16 chromoly they would be worth it but the price would be much higher. I'm betting its hot rolled steel which is just a cheap upgrade to help reduce the faulty problem but to better support it they should dimple die those holes.

Geez, I hope people bake or torch them with heat a little while before they weld those on!

How many miles on the spindles/wheel bearings? I was going to order new ones and have gussets welded on+ try and find/make custom gussets that actually go around the weak point where mine broke.

You could always get those and add more reinforcement to them before install since they will be off with some steel in the right places, to make it even stronger as those gussets could use more support IMO.

Any of you guys need light bars? I have a Baja Designs 30" with amber covers and a 52" that was just refurbished by them. I was asking $700 and $1000 but for anybody shoot me a reasonable offer. I just need the money right now.

I couldn't be happier with my AP Standards. When are you looking to order them? If you make it to JT you're welcome to hop in for a spin and see if you like them. There will be trucks there with Dakars to compare
