True. You'd have a much bigger problem. A missing front diff.

    From where?

Not in the middle of a trail like OP.

Do you have a point or just turning this into a Prerunner is life derailment for no benefit of anybody reading for information on what can lead to a life threatening failure of an important part?

This is a serious topic dealing with potentially dire circumstances.

Yeah I have no idea. I've welded quite a few spindle gussets between 1st gens, 2nd gens, and a couple gens of 4Runners. I've never had problems with any of the spindles I've welded and they've always burned in easy with a squirt gun. But again, I insist on the non-sway bar version (for 2nd gen tacos or 4th gen T4Rs) specifically for the larger welding area by the hub.

It must be a die type process.

@MonkeyProof Curious so see if we can get some more input after people start getting off work and (hopefully) inspect their gussets.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
I'm sure glad we have people able to positively ID a forged part versus a cast part using nothing more than an Internet picture.

Tell me, do cast parts have the same kind of strength needed to take the kind of use and abuse these spindles take?

Please, argue the point more. Tell us more how you're the only one on here convinced it's cast, in the face of everyone, including common sense, telling you otherwise.

Called the Truck Shop a few minutes ago.

$250 for them to weld their gussets onto your spindles. One day turnaround.

I know what I'm doing once Andy gets my spindle back to me.

edit: At least, it's a one day turnaround BEFORE all you SOBs run over there at once :p

Yeah I already ordered a new set of spindles, after I get them I'm most likely going to send them to The Truck Shop"

Looking back on it, it was stupid of me to try to weld the gussets with all the fitment issues on my old spindles, I should have realized my spindles were bent quite a bit and stopped there.

I talked to Rob at TotalChaos a few minutes ago asking to see if I can get the gussets that come with the Non-Sway bar Version, he said he needs to get with the sales manager on that. He suggests to always run the Non-Sway bar version. I also told him about this thread and about the 2 spindle failures. He was was interested in seeing this thread so I emailed him a link to it.
