You need yo get more write offs. Like a home, buisness, school, ect. And always donate to goodwill or something like that. I do my own and have learned a few tricks that always keep me ftom paying. A kid or two also helps greatly.

I bought this, but then when I mocked it up, it went to the half of my access cab door. Too long

True. Except the IRS' monthly shafting with no lube or the courtesy of a reacharound got old pretty quick

Not complaining since I make it work out in our favor.

If your salary and investment gains require paying taxes quarterly, you have nothing to complain about... ;)

I always plan out my withholdings/deductions so I get zero return at tax season. In fact I'd rather pay than get a return. At least in that case I get more money every paycheck and I make more in my investments. Too many folks live paycheck to paycheck or outside their means without planning ahead. It takes money to make money...and I'd rather have the governments money in my bank account than my money in the governments.

I use turbo tax and like it now that I do the long forms, before I would just go to the library and pick up the ez forms.

Last year I got $17 back from the Feds which I was pretty stoked on as i shoot for 0

This year I got $2400 back from the Feds but that was due to a ton of o.t worked which you can't really dictate how much they rape you on o.t

Very true. But I change my deductions at least 4x a year. Basically I change it right after a quarter ends at work or if I cash out any options. I change it based on how good/bad of a quarter I had and what tax bracket I'm on track to be in. I've got it all in a spreadsheet and literally takes 5 minutes and I'm always within 2% by the end of the year.

I think my OT is the only reason im getting anything back this yr. im usually right around $500+ from feds and -$400 to state so its pretty close to $0 net some yrs I dig deep fro write offs. Keeping a travel log can really help if you drive your own car for work.

man we need to change your name to the Tax man. I heard this same things your saying from an old guy yrs ago and try do the same and keep it as close to $o as possible. But working for the state making changes to my w4 can be a pain in the dick. I used to claim 9 a few times a yr before I worked for the state. That worked good if you keep track of it.
